View Full Version : Forecast and news channels don't work ....

Hi all,
I have the above problem since getting my Wii mod'ed.
Both channels say WiiConnect24 is not on but it is (and I get an orange light on standby to prove it).
If I turn WiiConnect24 off, both channels say it is off and give an error code. If I turn it on, both channels say it is off but without an error code.
I have looked on these forums and none of the, apparently "definitely fixes it", solutions works for my Wii.
Did anyone else have this problem and manage to fix it ?
Regards,

Tried all the suggestions in there ... still doesn't work.
At least when the news channel had the wrong "last update ..." text it was still actually downloading - now it doesn't even do that :(
And I am not able to connect to the Shopping channel at the moment either

After modding my wii, news & weather would not work correctly. Here's what I did.
1. Format Wii.
2. Unplug Wii.
3. Take out battery.
4. Wait 15-25 min.
5. Plug in Wii WITHOUT battery.
6. When you turn on Wii, it should be asking you the same things as when you first bought the Wii. Do the steps.
7. Setup internet connection & Wiiconnect24. The Wii should go through user agreements with you.
8. Start the weather & news channels. For each, the Wii should ask if time & date is correct.
9. If everything is working fine, turn off Wii.
10. Don't unplug Wii.
11. Put battery in & screw cover.
Everything was fine for me after that.

Got up to step 8.
Weather channel immediately said WiiConnect24 wasn't on (with no error code). News channel asked me to confirm the date/time and then said WiiConnect24 wasn't on (with no error code) :(

Step 7 is really just setup your connection through the "Internet" button in Wii settings. As you progress through the steps, Wiiconnect24 & standby will automatically be on, because it is on by default.
Check to see if your Wiiconnect24 & standby is really on. Other than that I'm really not sure what's wrong. Instead of the 15 min wait, try an hour?
