I purchased an SD card to save my..well saves. I was quite annoyed when I found out that if I were to put those saves on another Wii, you cannot use them because it comes from a different game or console. That sucks. What's the point(besides dumping hehe). So I was wondering what would need to be done and if possible, to allow save transfers? For psone I had a product that would hook up a psone memory card to my computer, and I could download saves off the internet(think it was called the dexdrive). But with the Wii's system here...we can't do that.

Would be a nice, useable, convenient hack don't you think? Can this be done? If so what steps would need to be taken?

Really? weird...

I went to transfer my Zelda save with a microsd/adpater from my broken wii to my new wii... it told me i could not save it to my new wii because i had not played zelda on the new console yet. I popped in the zelda disc, created a save, jumped out of the game and erased the new save and the wii let me transfer the save just fine... i havent actually tried to PLAY it yet.

Are you saying that even though it transferred i won't be able to PLAY it?

I almost beat the game though!

I d/l saves and use them all the time from http://www.wiisave.com/. There's a tutorial on there on how to transfer the downloaded ones.

I have not tried that...BUT, it still won't work for a different disc. That's moreso what I'm getting at. So sharing saves can be easy and hassle-free.
I noticed this because I had a Wii and botched my first install...I repaired it but already had purchased another Wii. I sold the first Wii with Wii sports. First I had saved my Wii sports to the SD card. When I put in the OTHER Wii sports disc...no save transfers(odd thought...for some reason my brother's Mii wii sports stats were saved).

I atleast think thats how it goes. I discussed this with a friend and he was on my level...said it couldnt be done. If I'm out of my gord here please forgive me, its just been my experience.

But if it is the game difference that stops a save...It would be awesome to download saves from others....cept that can't be done now.

Hmm weird. I originally played my retail copy of zelda, then modded the wii, then shelved it and continued playing a backup copy that my friend made me and the save worked fine.... i don't think it has anything to do with disc to disc differences but i could always be wrong.

I say this because I had one Zelda disc from Gamefly....then I purchased another Zelda disc and the save would not transfer. I have to start Zelda from the start again( :( )

what about the games which not allow you to copy?
Such as Fire Emblem?
Any way to transfer the save files?
