So, I got my Cyclowiz in the mail yesterday and I installed it right away. Clean install no solder splashes or bridged connections (I'm a pretty decent solderer 'cuz of all the xbox mods) And the cyclowiz light is on steady when I turn it on. I put in tiger woods backup and it boots, YAY! Then I went to closer the fucker up and tested it again, with the intention of upgrading to 3.0B. Well the upgrade disc doesn't read I get a DRE and now every game i put in (except originals) I get a DRE :( Is it possible that i tightened the screws too much when putting it back together? I didn't use a lot of force. Please help!

btw, I haven't got a spst switch yet so i figured that i could solder in the wires for the switch now (the ends are taped to protect against a short) and just manually pinch them together to upgrade. Any Suggestions?

Update: So I tried the unpluging thing and no go. Then I opened him up again and everything i threw at it boots, so i closed it without screws and not working again... and now the cyclowiz is flashing, so i checked all my connections again and they are perfect, then I realized that it must be shorting out when i close it fully and sure enought where I taped the chip to the dvd drive there was a little metal touching the a point on the chip. I removed the tape and re-taped it making sure that no metal was exposed, I fit the drive back inside snugly and voila! everything is good every disc I have boots including GC's just wanted to let you all know. And if anyone else is having a similar problem remember to check your chip placement inside the wii! :)

This happened on a wii I did for a friend. It was a cyclo too and when he went to program it with the update it would turn off when he flipped the switch. Turned out my friend taped the chip down for me because I was busy at the time modded another wii (did 3 at once) and he didn't tape it down fully and one of the switch points was touching the metal casing and grounding.
