Are you using XP? If so boot into safe mode and do a format of the card once that is done you will bee fine. Also makesure you are using usb 2.0. Also makesure the card is clean had nothing on it before. The safe mode will disable all you antivirus softwere so you can format the card. Alot of little things will caue you problems when formating. Just format in safe mode and it should work. Good luck

If you are using the wii sd slot it wont work you need the sd gecko which allows you to put the card into a gamecube memory card,
Homebrew is running in gamecube mode at the moment.

I even tried the old format /U command and it formated but that didnt work either....maybe I do have a sdhc card. This is whats quoted in the readme "Most cards other than sdhc should work. We tested various cards from 512mb
to 2gb."

did you format using formatSD.bat inside the dvddump folder??
it takes a while but after it works great!!
Setup:
-------------------
Before using your sdcard for the first time, you need to format it using
our tool. To do this simply run:
dumptool [driveletter] -c
This will format the card to fat16 and allocate space for the dumpfile.
It will use all but 10Mb of the available space, in case you want to put
some other applictions on there as well.

Yes,I tried that and it formatted the card and still it didnt work. Well at least I think it formatted the card??? It moved pretty fast though to be a format,it jumps right back to the command line after hitting enter after the "Continue?" message....

something is wrong then. It should take several minutes and you should see some text. If it closes the box automatically, then it didn't work. The same thing happened on my built in SD reader on my laptop. I had to use an external reader or digital camera to get it to format correctly.

do you have another brand of a SD card? many cards are manufactured different, so it might be a hardware conflict, or something?

I have 2 other brand, but are only 256mb,but I could try them just to pin point the problem here. I'll try some things out when I get home this evening. I also ordered an LG drive and should have it by tomorrow,so all is not at a loss,I'll be able to make backups some how anyway.

If you are using an internal card reader there are so know problems. Try using a external card reader and see if that works it should. if not then something is worng.
