Greetings,

I recently installed a cyclowiz v2 (the one that ships with the switch). I chose a wire install because it seems far easier to make nice clean connections.

Long story short, I've installed the cyclowiz and triple checked all my connections. They all look very clean and none are touching. I've checked for continuity between every connection and everything seems fine.

When I power up my Wii the cyclowiz doesn't light up. The drive still runs and plays retail games fine but obviously won't play imports.

Any simple solutions to checking to see if the cyclowiz is a dud?

My assumption is that I messed up somewhere but for the life of me I can't see where. I can probably post pictures if necessary.

Update:

Uninstalled wires, restarted install using minimum connections (no switch, no reset function) and quick solder method.

Still no luck getting the cyclowiz to power up. =(

it is very likely that you do not have the chip installed correctly. With a cyclowiz you can easily do the quicksolder method, which I believe is easier to make all the contects correct for beginners. Lets see those pics, maybe we can help you out. ;)
