so i would assume the same analysts said sony copied microsoft by adding a chrome trim on the higher model system

I read this entire article several times and found absolutely no compelling reasons as to "why the xbox 360 elite had to be black".

Don't get me wrong, I think it's groovy that it is, but as far as I'm concerned the title of this article is very misleading.

Funnier still that they are claiming "copycat" over such basics as "black" and "white". It's not like Apple complaining that someone copied their "flower power" iMac (http://news.com.com/2100-1040-252951.html).

I did make fun of the Xbox for copying the specific combo of black AND green, AND the letter "X" because I felt that it was a little too MatriX-like.. (as in, the movies)

But certainly I don't grudge them for picking black. Or white, or black again.

Copy takes 'influence' a step or two further. Who invented it first is irrelevant, even to the argument that says MS was influenced by Sony in its new design.

Well in all honesty I didn't read the whole thing, I based my opinion on the first post which seems to imply that "someone" is claiming that ms copied, borrowed, were influenced, or whatever by sony, and that to me is just simply silly. I'm just feel that people who bash a console for adopting another console's good points are idiots... unless it actually affects them that somehow console A copies console B, basically if they are not share holders why loose sleep over it?

Anywho as I said I didn't read the article, so if you didn't imply that then my comment simply wasn't aimed at you guys if on the other hand that's what your trying to say again that's just silly.

Despite my Black Case mod, I like the White color better then Black. The only reason I chose black is because I wanted Green LEDs.

That in itself is news.The Elite maybe not officially out, but people are allready finding it ( ebay - targets ). It's not a new game sytems, it's a new model of a yr 1.5 old console. Sorry, this is news, but it just isn't news worthy.
