Downloadable content for Rainbow Six: Vegas released

Ubisoft has released a batch of downloadable content for the Xbox 360 version of Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Vegas. It features five new maps and two new game modes.

Priced 800 Microsoft points (GBP 6.80 / EUR 9.30), the Player's Pack: Red Edition introduces a pair of new game modes and five multiplayer maps that support those and all the other game modes.

The new game modes are Assassination, in which one team escorts a VIP to the extraction zone while the other tries to kill him, and Total Conquest, in which two teams fight for control of three mobile radar installations (control points).

Of the maps, a couple may prove familiar, as Border Town and Killhouse are "Redux" versions of existing battlefields. Newcomers are the Marshalling Yard, set in an industrial district, Doscala Restaurant, an Italian eatery in the heart of Las Vegas, and Roof, set in (or indeed on) a coffee factory near the Mexican border. Each of the new maps is fit for and recommended for 16 player matches.

i just went online and asked to download it,i got 5800 gamerscore,then its asking me to add points to xboxlive,i got to pay:eek:

looks like gamerscore is just for a show off or something,whats with the gamerscore s*8t when the points you cant spend them?

it means naff all,nothing but a pose and for nothing else:eek:

there is no way i am going to go buy an over priced xboxlive points card to add points to xboxlive to get downloads.

the pack will be included with the next rainbow 6 release.

they still havnt fixed lots of issues with the online glitch's with vegas as it is.die and end up in the vault,floating c4.frags dissappearing and attack and defend calypso casino is rediculous when the defenders cant pick the intel back up and deposit it back at point A.

i am gonna have to sit here and seriously think about this one.i love that game to bits and i am pretty well know in the calypso casino lvl with lots of the gamers and them likewise with me.

we need this sort of stuff for free!

Did you seriously think Microsoft of all companies would give you something for completing a game?

The Achievement Points are jst for show, to show your ability within gaming. I think it's a novel idea and one that works well. It also gives alot of average games abit more playability.

PS. These maps won't be in the next game release as it'll be a whole new story featuring brand new levels to do with that story line.

If you like the game enough, you'll spend your 800 points like i have. Otherwise you may aswell trade the game in.

I think he means in the six vegas gold maybe, lik they did with call of duty and graw, included the extras in the game.
I got this pack because i think vegas is a really good game online and worth it, i agree it a rip off but thta is Microsoft and they are not going to change any time soon, they are not happy because epic are doing FREE packs for GOW so they are making them charge for the future packs.
I got the PGR3 pack it and was worthless and i got the PDZ pack and that was alright but the gamerpoints are to hard so i never really bothered.
Also i can remember when the GRAW packs came out, i could hardly get into a online game, took at least 5 mins to just get into a lobby, not fun :mad:

I owned a Xbox I remember buying battlefront 2, playing online and getting shoved back to the main screen every fukin time because "You don't have the necessary map". Does this happen with 360 games as well? If so then Microshaft forces you to buy this bullsh1t and your an idiot for having this pathetic system

I don think its too much to ask. Two new game modes and extra maps do take time for the devs to make, maybe 800 is a touch steep but its not that bad considering the amount of playtime the stuff can offer you. If you dont like it, dont but it.

Sure some microtransactions are utter ripoffs, but this is not anywhere near as bad.

For me this is a definate purchase. I have been playing R6 with the same group of people since Black Arrow and the extra maps add 100's of hours of more gameplay. Some of my friends only play R6, I never see them playing anything else and if they do for some reason pop in a different game its Ghost Recon. R6 is definately one of the best FPS games made and the more maps the better.

I would rather pay 10 bucks for this than 6 bucks for 3 songs in GH2. Now that is a ripoff. Let me pick the songs I want in each pack and maybe then I would buy it but I dont Higher Ground and Stellar, just Infected. the first pack is ok but ala carte would have been better. They try to justify the price by saying the licensing and testing that needs to be done yet they could just release GH1 on the 360 for the normal $60 and it would be less than Dl'ing it all. Thats a real ripoff.

so i bought a points card today.i suppose to play what modes already existed on line with the original game not the new modes will be alright but,i have played a few levels on the new maps and modes also on existing maps and quite frankly the new game modes suck big time.

trust me,to have 5 extra maps for the existing modes is cool but,the new modes are just plain crap.

a waste of 800 popints if you was expecting something great to come out with the new modes on the NEW maps.

the new maps and modes just dont work together at all.
