Guitar Hero II Update: Bricking 360s?

We reported yesterday on a patch released for Guitar Hero II that was supposed to alleviate the issues with the Guitar Hero II X-plorer controller. It looks as if they may have made things much, much worse.
Users on Official Xbox forums report "blinking light of death" and constant freezing after installing Guitar Hero II X-plorer controller update.

Maybe the Update is Checking to see if these people are running a Copy of the Game or have some sort of ModChip Installed...........Who Knows!!!!

Also i Noticed on One of the Torrent Sites that there is a Download containing all Three Packs of Extra Songs for Guitar Hero 2 for Nothing,
So saving you 1500 MS points...........:eek:

LAWL is called we pay a little extra for quality of build. You just can't take bad news for the 360 can you. Always trying to spin **** well the 360 is **** quality build. Hope Microsoft doesn't help people fix this. Ya 9mil 360's have sold but everyone has 2 or 3 from bricks lmao.

had my 360 since last july, play it on average 8 hours a day, some days its on more then that (college student, nothin better to do with my time). when i take it apart the heatsink has basically burned into the metal chassie the thing has been on for so long. any problems ever? besides the random hard drive error that only requires a restart the thing has been peachy. so honestly sure ms may have rushed a few systems out at launch, but there are some systems that perform perfectly. seriously who cares about stupid **** like that, the only thing i care about with video games is if im having fun. as of now, ps3 has not been that much fun, when compared to 360. hopefully sony picks up the pace and gets some games out, i mean 360 had a **** launch but after 6 months there were more then 1 or 2 games to get...

Just a clarification... SPM will NOT brick an unmoded Wii. The only people havign problems are morons with modded PAL Wiis running out of date firmware who are play NTSC versions of SPM. These people are (1) not being careful, and (2) obviously pirating the game. Those people all deserve to have their Wiis bricked.

As for the xbox 360. Im almost scared to touch it in fear of getting a ring of death. There were all the defective systems at launch, games that could aparently overheat the GPU, scratching disks, shattering disks, the dashboard update which bricked some systems, now this. Anyone care to bet how many problems the spring update will bring?

Wow!!! A mod of all people in here to add fuel to the fire and start a PS3 flame war, how mature.

I will admit truthfully, paying $600 for a console that does not break it a much better deal than paying $400 for a console that needs constant repair. If you don't agree, then well, that would be ignorance on your part.

I for one enjoy playing MLB 2k7, Resistance, Oblivion, Motorstorm on my PS3. Not to mention, my Netflix account makes my Bluray drive that much more enjoyable as well.

So in response to your foolish comment. I guess the XBox360's should be "sure we don't have Bluray or anything other than FPS games, but our consoles will die on you."

Pretty sad when the richest company has to extend their warranties because they can't use their money to make a quality product. Meanwhile they find the time to bash other companies? Not to mention, what games are really coming out for 360 worth mentioning other than Halo 3 and Forza 2?

I hope MS pulls their heads out of their asses and stop being the penny pinchers they have proved themselves to be.

Reading your post title, they shouldn't have to try and bash PS3 on this. They will probably try to bash the PS2 now, seeing how it somehow runs this fine, being made in 2000 and all, meanwhile a "superior" console made in 2005 can;t run it properly without killing the damned thing.

Either way, it's just another way for MS to fix 1 million consoles and then come out and say "We just hit 11 million units sold!!!"

Dont download that. Who ever put that up is an idiot.

First of all, you can download updates for a game ONLY when the game is inserted in the 360...and since these song would have to be burned onto a disc...its immposable for the game to get them...since you cant have 2 discs in your 360 at the same time.

first thing the pricing on dlc, microsoft have only input they do not force any dev to price there content. Its been said that redoctane priced them according to licensing deals although doesnt make much sense when you see all the games on a single disc for 50 but meh. Next is the 360, mine runs perfect. Runs games for hours not to mention hd dvd for more hours. Do people get red lights, absolutely theres no denying whats been happening but microsoft is also repairing all consoles purchased within a year of purchase with no gimmicks. If you try to exchange a ps3 in that time span you better have a receipt and not touched the stock hdd or you will be denied

In a recent 1UP Yours podcast, Mark Rein and Tim Sweeney from Epic explicitly said that MS had asked them over and over NOT to release free stuff for Gears of War, even though Epic had wanted to do so.

MS is trying to bleed their customers to death. I bet you that MS is pulling these tricks all over, but you rarely hear about it.

I'm happy that you have a functional 360, but what about people who's on their 4th and 5th? A lifespan of 3-4 months on a console is simply not acceptable, good warranty service or not.

Finally, Sony's been fast to fix PS3's that's bricked - get your facts straight.

no if i was wrong then annex wouldn't be on live right now free would it and wrong again, I had to send in my ps3 to get serviced from sony. Fast turn around, they couldn't even find record of my system being serviced until it was reshipped to me because of "system changes". I've been through the process for the ps3 and exchanges along with the questionaire they ask you over the phone and the document you must print, fill out and submit. O and my ps3 was a week old
