So after weeks of anticipation Bungie have revealed the 'cool feature assigned to the X button in Halo 3. The button will allow players to drop mines or use bubble shields that are found on the battlefield.

These items will be rare to find according to developers at Bungie, but when they are found will be a great surprise to spring on the enemy.

Is the the 'big' news it was made out to be? Lets hope it adds to the quality of the game!

Hmm so all the rumors have been pretty true with this one. Good to finally get it confirmed anyway though.

What will happen if I'm playing halo 3 and I hold the guide button for a few seconds, press "up" twice and then press "a"?

Why the hell does the function of a button have to be so secretive. As far as I can tell they releasing so much damn info about the game that by the type the game gets here there will be no surprises left for people to find out.

I heard there's a rumor that there's a button, maybe trigger-like that will allow you to fire a gun in-game! :P Hopefully the game will live up to the hype

So let me get this straight, the x button activates a rare find..... so... you'll rarely use the x button. What a waste of a button i say.

PEOPLE!

This is revolutionary!!!

Surely you must realize that the 'x' button will be used in this game. That means that it will be used only for the most 'xtreme' functions known to man!!!

Surely it is a sign from the great god of chocolate pudding that we should sell all our earthly possessions, then buy a 360 with the biggest HDTV we can possibly find/afford, and then stare at them in awe wishing we had money leftover for the game on release, lol.

lol. Dude, they mean the X button, as in the 360 Guide button. My guess is if you press it quick you drop the mines and crap, if you hold it you get the 360 guide. X will reload. Same goes for you Gonepolstl you moron.

Though, it's possible Reload could be moved to LB and they just take the Flashlight out of the game completely. In Halo 2 the Flashlight would never stay on anyway.

But anyway, this is big news. Finally a company uses the button as was intended in the first place. I'm sure RE5 will use it for the Health like they did in REVC on the DC with the VMU, but aside from that I can't wait to see who else uses it.
