Anyone try booting from a backup of your Action Replay disk?
My original AR ver. 1.06 won't let me swap with game backups,I do have
a backup of AR ver. 1.14b but my ntsc qoob boots it with the graphics all
messed up. Im just curious if a backup of the AR disk will work for cheats since the original wont work. I was thinking maybe a backup of AR will work now since qoob bios ver. 1.2 supports disk swap now? I can't seem to backup my original AR disk, all I get is errors after 36MB.
Maybe the original AR disk's barcode interferes with the swap process?
I think the reason why the graphics are messed up with the AR 1.14b version is because it's a pal version.

This is some of .nfo text from the AR backup I tried using.

I don't think you can copy an action replay disk. Notice the visible pits around the inner ring. If you CAN copy one, someone let me know how. OR...how can I play backups with gcos without an action replay disk? Is it possible? I saw this very question asked before but I wasn't far enough along yet to understand.

It is possible to make a backup of AR...

You just need the beginning of the disc (apploader / maindol area), the rest of the disc is just "00 00 00 00" and Errors - and it would take along time to extract (if i remember it correct)...

But - why you want to make a Backup of it?

AND

It should be good enough to store/send the dol to/in qoob - or send it via pso.

AR is for Original-Game use only...

I'm not using any kind of chip at all. I bought pso/bba/ar1.14b ntsc and my case is still un-cracked.
You guys say only the first 36Mb is needed. That might explain why the gcos upload I tried failed. But can a .iso be opened and edited in notepad? What free software would I need to "clean up the garbage?"
