EGM: New Halo Spin-Off Being Developed?

The latest edition of EGM magazine (may) contains some hot new rumors. The juiciest of them, is that a new Halo-themed game is now under developement as we speak. According to EGM's Quartermann: Word is another Halo game is in the works. No, I'm not talking about Halo Wars (but I hear it might be coming out this year!) or the episodic project famed movie director Peter Jackson is working on. So what is it?

So, what could it be? Any guesses?

geez, I relize that Halo is the Xbox cash cow...but come on. If MS goes overboard with Halo...it WILL loose its coolness factor.

But on the other hand...I am psyched about Halo 3 & probably even more so about Halo Wars...being that ensemble studios is making it (aka: the makers of the Age of Empires game...one of my fav games.)

Anyone else find this funny that people like gonepostl say crap like "I hate Halo! Why make another crappy game like that?!" Funny? Final Fantasy has how many games out compared to the 4 Halo games that will be out by December? Yet they always praise the re-hashes of Final Fantasy. In case you've been living under a Rock...

Note that some of the Spin-Offs are them draining even more life out of Final Fantasy series, I just included it on Spin-Offs because it's only a single game...so far. Also, never included the many TV shows and movies that sucked life out of it as well, one being yet another FFVII drain. And WTF? They're planning spin off games for single titles that haven't even been created yet? O_o There are a lot of books for it too, but that doesn't count cause there's some Halo books out there as well.
