View Full Version : Bethesda: Shivering Isles Bug Found
Developer Bethesda has confirmed that there is a crucial bug in the PC edition and potentially the Xbox 360 version of Elder Scrolls IV: Shivering Isles. Reports indicate that the bug has derived from malfunctioning programming scripts responsible for the behavioral patterns of some in game characters.
According to the latest reports the bug--which is believed to derive from malfunctioning programming scripts responsible for the behavioral patterns of some in-game characters--erases data because these rogue elements use up all of the identification numbers assigned to every object in the game. Therefore, once all the allotted space is used up, new objects such as weaponry fail to materialize in-game.

You know? Bugs notwithstanding, I tip my hat off to Bethesda. That gold statue looks absolutely photorealistic. Everything else looks good, but a little fake.
They should make a new game where you spend your entire time in a forest of gold statues.

Any possibility of this leading to a hypervisor exploit via the bug ??.

Other sites where I have read the same thing, say this bug is save crippling. So until this has been fixed, I won't be playing much.

Well I have put over 200 hours into Oblivion with a Level 50 character and I have done all of the quests in Shivering Isles and had no problems whatsoever.
Its a very good addition to an already superb game. Although the Shivering Isles dungeons can be very repetitive its a definite must have on XBox Live if you like Oblivion despite the 2400 MS points it costs.
