Not going to attempt the install for a while, but here's questions for all.

First, looking at the Installation Diagram (http://wiikey.cn/images/installWiiKey.pdf), which points are the power and ground?

Next, for wiring, should I use slightly thicker wire (I think I have either 28 or 26 AWG wire that I used for the power and ground on a PS2 Magic V install way back when) for the power and ground, or should the 30 AWG wire suffice?

30 awg wire will suffice for all 6 connections. The two square pads (ie 1 & 2 on the Wii) are the power and ground, dunno which one is which though :p

The wiikey is EXTREMELY easy to install. I had 0 soldering experience and it took me MAYBE 10 min to solder it in there. Just look @ the diagrams on the wiikey official site. The diagram tells you where each wire goes.. problem solved! :)

No, it's not that I'm afraid of soldering or don't know how (*flosses the sig*), just trying to find out if I should use a slightly larger wire to reduce some of the resistance from the wire going to the power and ground.

Like I said, you don't need any thicker wire for the power and ground connections. I (and many other forum users here) have used only 30 awg wire and everything works perfectly.

I can also vouch for the 30 awg wire. It works quite well even on power and ground, it's small, flexible, and easier to keep from touching other solder points. Especially good for soldering directly to the chip legs. :)

did my wiikey with my 20 gauge wire , which I have been using since I started modding PS1s 10 yrs ago. If you have the soldering skills like mine, SIZE DON'T MATTER :D :D :D

if you have thicker gauge, multi-core wire, then use it for CND and VCC. recommended, not paramount, but its good practice, remember these wires carry current, yes we knows its low vaoltage, but the insulation is thicker and more suitable for this. If you have got this type of wire, then go ahead use your 30awg.

1 thing i will recommend, dont use thicker solid core wire, its too stiff.
