I don't want this to turn into a thread about which is the better chip. I would like to know what the additional solder point on the wiikey is for though. Recently, there have been posts regarding the "removed" point on the newer boards. While this will require a wired connection for the wiikey, the cyclowiz can still be installed using quick-solder. I'd like to know what that extra point is used for???

I believe its for flashing, but I'm not sure. The wiikey is VERY hard to quicksolder due to the points not lining up and the thick pcb, and I wouldn't recommend quicksoldering any chip at all.

I've actually got a cyclowiz (wired install). I was more using the quicksolder as a point of reference to that specific pad. Thanks for the answer Ace.
