After successfully installing (wired) and updating my Cyclowiz, none of my Wii (DMS) backups were recognized. I used an LG drive to rip and I burned them in Windows with Nero. I thought that the Wii drive might not like that media, so to make sure that the chip was actually working, I grabbed an old Gamecube backup and it worked flawlessly.

So, I grabbed a Benq drive out of my PC and hooked it up via IDE->USB and burned a Wii backup (with the exact same media). Works flawlessly.

Any other Macbook/Pro users having problems with their HL drive burning usable discs? Anyone else in here on a Mac period?

My buddy used DMS to burn a copy of a copy i made on his IMAC, it would not run on my V2 cyclowiz, but when i installed the s wire and updated my wiz to 3.0B, the game worked (on a fuji disk btw). So it may be an apple and media issue. in other words, your not alone.

I burn using Disk Utility at the minimum speed (2.4x) on my iMac and it works fine. 4x burns seem to work too, but 8x fails.

...and all of my burns have been fine.

I usually use my external 16x Memorex All Formats Magic Happy Drive, as I like to call it, and it works just fine.

I use Disk Utitilty to burn everything.

RnSK, do you have a HL-DT-ST DVDRW GWA4080MA?

I can always use my external drive as well, I'm just wondering what's up with that drive.

I'll try again with some Taiyo Yuden's that I'll pick up today. Maybe it's just the media.

I bought some Taiyo Yuden -R media the burns seem fine now. So, it wasn't the drive after all, at least not with the new media.

Nice to see some other Mac guys on here ;)

I also use my iMac to burn games, since it's my only computer :)

17" Intel iMac (MATSHITA DVD-R UJ-846), always burn at 8x using Memorex DVD-R's and haven't had one DRE yet, and have burned over 60 games....I burn em all with Disk Utility, but I'd rather use Burn.app, but since the most recent version crashes as soon as the burn starts (and ruins the disc), Disk Utility it is.

I have a macbook, without a dual layer drive. Can anyone suggest a dual layer drive that will burn both Nintendo Wii and Xbox 360 games well?

I haven't had any problems burning backups, but does anyone have a clear concrete way to create a bootable DVD with homebrew emus and roms on a MAC? I see all these GUI's for PC but can't seem to find anybody that has tried to do the same for MAC... worst case scenario I'll borrow a friends PC but I would love it if anybody knew another way.

I havent tried yet but i suppose paralells or maybe crossover might be able to make them work on the mac if you have an intell based one

I have a macbook pro with the same DVDRW drive. I can burn games just fine at 4x using disk utility. I am using Taiyo Yuden media.
