Haven't heard much about them, but what I have heard was good.
Make sure they have a phone number for service. Voice is always better than e-mail.

I got mine there. They were a little slow in getting their stock, but once I finally got it, it did not appear to be a clone and it works fine.

i ordered from there two weeks ago, i selected 2day shipping and got it the next day. one of the shippers was only a 3hr drive from where im at. installed 2 and they both work great. i can use the setup disc so i am going to assume its not a clone, but everything works so a thumbs up!

I ordered mine Tue 4/03/07 5:06 AM and received it today as I live in the Dallas suburbs. I just finished installing it in fact. Real Wiikey, it works great, and they ship same day. No complaints from me at all.

Also a good experience here.

I had a horrible experience with them as have many others (there are threads here about them). If there are no probs with your order, you are fine. But once you do have a hiccup, you're screwed as they only have an online ticketing system which can take a week to get back to you (no exaggeration). No working phone numbers at all. The number they have listed with the BBB doesn't work either.
Stay away. There are many other good options for buying chips, don't risk being screwed by them.

Hey guys, our support system has been in the dumps. We havent been receiving a lot of tickets and a lot of ticket responses have been going to spam folders. Please use www.modchipstore.com/support and not emails. If you do have issues that are not resolved after a day or two, please email me directly at jarrett@modchipstore.com and i'll take care of it for you.
Sorry for the delays guys!

I ordered from them and it took less than 1 day to get to my doorstep using DHL for only $7.. I can't complain about that.. I do agree they need a better support system but other than that I give them a 10/10 for service

That's BS too. We can leave a message on your answering machine after having to track down the number and still you won't respond to our tickets. That has nothing to do with spam folders.
Seriously, go with a store that provides support. Don't patronize shops who hide behind a ticket system that takes a week to answer your concerns.

It took several e-mails for me to finally get a response.. they play this game of "its already been shipped" even if you cancel an order within 10 min of making it... beware about that but they do get your order to you pretty damn fast

I ordered mine yesterday and it shipped same day. Should be getting to me tomorrow according to DHL.
I submitted a ticket regarding shipping, and got a response back within a couple hours. :D
Can't wait to get my Wii all set up. :)

Hey everyone...
Just thought I'd chime in and say the service I've received from the Modchipstore was the WORST I've ever experienced when buying online.
I was shipped a defective wiikey (No, I didn't screw up - I have my BS in EE and know how to solder a few wires). - I RMAed it, and since have received no response from the seller -it's been over a month since I shipped it back.
I've emailed them about 10 times, and called twice with absolutely no human reply (I've gotten two meaningless automated responses that had little to do with the content of the mails I sent).
If you want to take advice from me (which I doubt)...
AVOID THEM LIKE THE PLAGUE!

I would look elsewhere, they ripped me off hundreds of dollars and like other said here, there support is sh*t. I would go elsewhere.

I got the wiikey from them and it works but i was VERY dissapointed because:
1) The triwing i bought from them was useless, had to order another one from somethere else.
2) The wire and solder kit was just a string of solder (which was huge anyway) and no wires.
So basically i was ripped off like $13 for useless junk.
I'm never buying from them again.

You've been saying that for weeks now, and you still haven't fixed this? I think the best conclusion we can draw from this is to recommend that everybody avoid modchipstore. One of their worst tactics is to send you an item even after you've cancelled an order through their crappy ticket system. At least try to provide a living person to take calls.

I agree w/ the post above.. I ordered a screwdriver from them and cancelled 10 min later due to me getting a wiikey AND a screwdriver.. no point in paying 15 for a screwdriver to be sent when i can get them both right? So i cancel 10 min later ( if that ) and i hear back the next day.. sorry its been shipped already ... so now i have the words most expensive tri-wing screwdriver :)

I would have to agree with most of the others, STAY away....until you hear that they have a system like NEWEgg that has phone number, and prompt email response.
Think about it, they ask you for your phone number when you order and they DON'T give their's.
They tell you they will RESPONSE to your email with this message "YOUR email request is LOW prioity" and someone will get back to you in time ... what type of response is that. I mean, NOBODY, and I mean NOBODY wants to HEAR that their CONCERN is considered LOW prioity... and maybe in week someone will get back to you.... .
To person who works at MODCHIPSTORE who is visiting:
Get phone number Modchipstore and get someone to answer emails immediately, if you are SO BUSY ... hire someone to answer emails and do costumer service, and if you are NOT busy, make comsumer service higher on your to do list.
p.s. if I hear they have a phone number and they NOW make answering emails from their costumers IMPORTANT to them, and the Boards start PRAISING them I'll try them again. But not until they clean up their act.

I ordered a Wiikey, tri-wing and component cable late Sunday night a week or two ago and had the delivery by noon Tuesday. The screwdriver they sent was perfectly acceptable and I used it to take apart my Wii, and put it back together, with absolutely no problems. So unless they sent hacktek a totally different (brand of) screwdriver I don't know what his problem was.
Overall I'd rate my experience with them as positive. However it does sound like their customer service area is quite deficient and those that do need to contact them due to cancelling orders, defective products, etc are probably justified with their complaints.

Why on God's green earth do you want to buy a Wiikey? Their support of the chip is heavily in question AND there are quite a few Gamecube games it is not compatible with.
Buying a Wiikey at this point and time is NOT recommended.
Come to think of it, as of Modchipstore, I cancelled my Triwing screw driver about a week before my order shipped and they never got back to me, nor cancelled the order for the screwdriver. AS STATED ABOVE, the screwdriver they did send was COMPLETELY worthless. If I would have used that thing, I would have stripped the screws immediately. Bought a small torx set from Lowes which did the trick.

I looked at Wiikey and Cyclowiz and decided on Wiikey for my own reasons. People can do the same and decide for themselves what they want to purchase. They say there will be a firmware update to fix the problems and I believe them. See, unlike a lot of others around here, I have something called patience.
And you must have got the same triwing that hacktek got because the one I received from them worked quite well. Perhaps you got the whole righty-tighty lefty-loosey thing mixed up.

I see no reason why NOT to order the wiikey.. its definately the easiest to install and for my own reasons works fine. I don't play gamecube or anything so it works just fine for me. Cyclowiz has its advantages for gamecube and whatnot :) Different chips for different pepople.
But back on topic.. the screwdriver i got worked just fine and the chip seems to be genuine ( at least the site is on wiikeys official resell list ) so i can't really complain about WHAT i got but the service blows

Hey man. The screwdriver i got was one with a red semi transparent handle and a HUGE tip that did not fit the triwings (well i removed a couple after using caveman brute force but most of the others starter stripping so i stopped). I tried to file the tip but it didn't work. Perhaps they changed the screwdriver after hearing a bunch of complaints cause i was not the only one who got that same one.

I do not recommend Modchipstore. Their support/service has been terrible even after emailing Jarrett. My order came in with 1 item missing and the other item was wrong. I RMA'd the order back and it was delivered to them a week ago. I am still waiting on an answer as to when my items are going to ship to me. Worst service ever.

I ordered from modchipstore and have no complaints. Product arrived fairly quickly and works fine.

I finally got the last part of my order yesterday. It took just over 1 month. On average it took 4 days for them to respond to my emails. Then they would give me a vague response. No one ever told me why it was so delayed. While I did finally get my order corrected I DO NOT recommend them. If you have any type of issue with your order, it takes forever to get any type of response.

...i can use the setup disc so i am going to assume its not a clone...
Don't assume that, the clone chips work fine with the setup disk. From what everyone else here is saying though, it does sound like one of the genuine chips. Exactly what you said is the reason I think the WiiKey team is unable to tell the difference between the originals and clones. If they WERE able to tell the difference, why would they not update the setup disk files and prevent them from updating the clones rather than wait until the update comes out.
