CycloWiz Update without using switch

is it possible to update my v1 cyclo with the new update(3.0) that came out last week, without having to wire in the switch???

i never wired it in :(

no problem just remember though that if you do install that switch that you be satisfied with the soldering before updating

Hi,
I managed to update my Wii without a switch. I did have the switch wires connected to the chip but no switch. I connected them when the update told me to turn the switch on disconnected them when it told me to turn the switch off.

I have to admit though it was a right pain.

I got my cyclowiz today and installed it without problems, but he upgrade took a couple of tries before it completed. I have a Pal wii but may be getting a NTSC wii, will I need to reflash the v3.0b Ntsc version onto the chip?

for some reason I got an error when uploading the pic, so just rename the extension to .jpg

I had to lose the tiny air filter that sits under the Wii, but at least I don't have a big nasty switch pointing out. If I need to flick the switch a small scredriver through the hole does the job.

From my understanding from there website, it detects chipset ( currently d2a, dms, d2b ) and the chip locks itself to that drive type.

So unless the PAL and NTSC have the same drivechip for DVD you cannot interchange the cylcowiz after taking update.

That seems ok, because I was planning to move the entire drive over as it's already modded and is a DMS drive.
