Ok ok , guys listen up. For anyone reading around the community, trying to decide which is better qoob or viper. Ive just ordered a qoob , and i must say that it seems the Viper Fans (who already rushed out and brought a viper) will say absolutely anything to make themselves feel better about their purchase. The ease of flashing with USB is enough alone to make the qoob superior, not to mention the increased bios size. Apart from that I assume that the features implemented by each chip is only related to bios and therefore each will match each other in every department. So Buy Qoob and rest in peace.

I mean take a look at the installation diagrams for both , theyre identical except for the 5V power for the USB flasher and another wire for the gnd. As far as i see the chips are virtually identical.

Oh and a word to any case manufacturer who plans on branding their full DVD-r case mod with a certain viper logo. Id watch what i was doing , cos i aint buying that crap.

I have both a Qoob and a Viper, and personally, I like the Viper better. Sure the USB is nice, but I have no problems flashing the Viper with the programmer. And sure the bigger flash is nice, but it will go mostly unused for the majority of the people, so the 15 dollars extra would be a waste for those people. The Qoob is a great chip, but I prefer the Viper for playing games, I would rather have multiple games on one disc then anything that the Qoob has so far.

And like you said, all these features are just bios related, so everything the Qoob can do(besides saving dol's to the chip) can be done with the Viper, and vice versa, so the extra money is not worth it for most of the people.

Have to agree, both chips do an almost identical job, but I do love the USB that Qoob Pro offers, disc check and ripper are also not essential, but nice to have. My Viper is hooked to my BigScreen, so to get around 2 disc issues, I take my game and memory card over to the Qoob, play it from the last save on disc 1 to the start of disc 2, save the sucker and take it back to the Viper.

Definitely Viper. Multi-game discs and built-in AR are very nice:) But I guess I'm just one of those Viper owners that rushed into my purchase and am now making myself feel better. It's a shame I had to save that $15 and have these damn extra features. Curse you Viper!!!!!

It might be because I never owned a viper, but I'm 100% satisfied with my qoob pro. I don't really care for the built in cheat function as I don't cheat with my games. But I would like to be able to put multiple games on 1 disc. I think the viper desperately needs multi-disc support and that was a big + for people needing a chip. The usb is also nice, well anyways i wrote a review if you want to check it out. Its in this forum. Later.
