Im wanting to mod my Wii one way or another I just dont know how.
I was wanting to get the wiikey and install it my self as I did electronics for a few years at school so should have no problems with installing it.
However im worried that down the line Nintendo will block me from online content or mess up the console. Is this a likely scenario?

Also if I get the modcheap installed how easy is to to remove once I have decided on a mod chip to use?

Thanks

I don't see it likely atleast not in the near future for a block to appear for the chips. As far as removal goes, just make sure you don't do the quicksolder on whichever chip you choose and you can remove it no problem

some chips are easier to remove than others. If you are genuinely worried solder your chip in using wires. Cyclowiz has an easy solder option but using it make sit impossible nearly to remove - many people have bricked their console trying to remove a cyclowiz.

i have a cyclowiz and i has a disable option so you can boot your wii with the chip off.

All the current chips offer the same features nearly and are all similar to install. Its quite simple if you have the right tools but imposible without them.

If you open the wii and it looks too hard, get someone to do it for you. Lots of people are trying this and ruining their console.

Good luck however you decide to go

thanks for the replies, I was wondering, if I’m careful opening the wii do i void the warranty? Is there a sticker to watch out for? I know it wont do much good if you stick a chip in there tho.

there isn't a void sticker but there are stickers that go over the screw holes but can easily be removed with some patience
