I put mine on the rear of the Wii in the space beside the USB ports. (near the inside of the console, not the outside) This was a permanent install though as I wanted it to look nice.

I've seen others put the switch in the fan grill.

I could post pictures later tonight.

Depending on how you run wires internally, I found that installing it slightly below and to the left of the sensor bar jack works extremely well, and there is Plenty of room.

I pondered putting a flat slider switch in between the GC ports and Mem stick ports, possibly under the black plastic, that way, it wouldn't get switched by accident, and for all intensive purposes, looks not-modded, in case of any in-store returns ;-) . I don't have any pics unfortunately, but Dlanoz had a good spot for his.

Thanks.

I chose this spot b/c of the room behind the switch area. Keep in mind you may reopen your Wii again so I kept an extra 4" of wire for easy access the next time. I should have took a pic of that. I taped the excess wire nice and neatly inside the unit.

I keep my Wii horizontal so up is on, and down is off. Also, I thought about the other type of switch but chose this one because it's easy to tell if it's on/off, and very easy to install. Plus, who is going to be behind your Wii playing with switches?

Good luck!

behind my wii playing with switches.....Little sister?

4 in of extra wire is definitely a good thing to have, I only had about 2 in extra and it was a two person job putting the wii back together and pulling the switch into the case.;)
