Can anyone test gamecube mini-dvd backups if you have any? My wiifree 1.51 doesn't seem to like them. Just curious if the 2.x versions like them or not. Thanks.

Mine is on a12F629 PIC. ;)
No trouble, so far.

Well, a small issue with original Wii dics :
I have to eject it once and then it's recognized. :)

The recognition problem with originals disc disappear when I use the 12F6283's hex (on the adequate pic -> 12F683!) . :D

Does this new version have the GC streaming audio fix? I have US, DMS and I'm using wiiskas right b/c it does have the audio fix.

Does this fix make the disk spin at 6X all the time, or is it a true disk detection that spins the disk at the correct speeds the original would, ie. 6X or 4X?

The reason I ask, is I'm a little concerned that spinning at 6X all the time may cause some unwanted wear or damage to drive mech or laser.

I'm also having problems with originals being detected with 2.20. I may purchase a batch of 683's and 675's just for kicks.

Ha. I built a programmer got PIC's and tried to open mine without a triwing. Couldnt do it so I ordered one and my Wii died like two days later. So now I have a programmer, PIC's a triwing and no Wii. CC is supposed to have a few on Sunday I might try my luck.

why did your wii die?

No idea. I had not opened it yet. Was playing Zelda, it froze up and that was it. Wouldnt boot anymore. Considering its a Nintendo product I was shocked.

I had removed two of the triwings under the black plastic by dremmeling a slot into them, decided at that point to wait and get a triwing. Instead of sending it back to Nintendo (due the two mangled screws) I took it back to the store and got my cash back.

Appears I just got some faulty hardware. Thank god it happened before I modded it.

Its the first system I've ever had that died on me.
