Ok so the install went ok but I was wondering if I should cover up the solder points or anything. I saw some people covered it on that hot glue stuff. I was using electrical tape but I think my wii got too hot and melted it a little bit. Look for suggestions. Thanks

The wii shouldn't generate enough heat to melt electrical tape. If electrical tape wasn't holding up then hot glue is going to be worse

Hot melt glue works better than electrical tape, yeah. It's what I use when I need solder joints to be held still to prevent 'em from breaking off.

Ok so is hot glue good or bad because you people are giving me mixed messages. Also is hot glue easy to take off? Would the hot glue heat affect anything on the wii like wires and such? Thanks

hot glue = no no, at least i wouldn't do it. what happen if in the future that you want to remove your chip? hot glue WILL be a pain in the ass to remove. as for heat effect from hot glue, there is none.

if you fear about solder point break lose, then use elec tape. once the chip installed, it is not gonna move around, of couse unless you didn't tape the chip that is. Even elec tape is excessive, as it is not needed.

Yeah, only use glue if you want it permanent. You won't be working on that area afterwards if you glue it all up. I taped my chip in place, but when you want crap solid for a loooong time, use glue.
