Ok So, i have a PS2 Slimline v12, this has got a DUO3 GOLD modchip in it. I am glad that the PS2 Original DVD's and Backup's boot fine. BUT with the chip enabled i cannot boot PSX Originals OR Backups. When the chips is disabled at startup, i can then boot Original PSX and obviously i wont be able to boot backups :D
P.S: I DO NOT have a memory card? (Does that affect it?)
So my Questions is:
1)Whats GOING ON!!!!
2) Can this be fixed?
3) any Other Suggestions

Ok So UPDATE:
I installed this same chip into a v7 GH-022 Motherboard.
And ... Still no dice.
Same deal, cannot boot PSX Backups. Boots the originals fine
Any Suggestions? I mean does anyone else have this issue.
I used an Infinity chip on the Previous Slimline. and it now boots Everything???
duo is a preety weak for psx games. there is some shti u have to do with opening the tray and turning it off.
doing this works on mine. takes more than 1 try sometime goodluck.
PSX games
- Press EJECT button to switch on the machine.
- Insert PSX game in tray, then press and hold RESET button to switch off machine.
- Now hold the RESET button to start up your machine. Only release the RESET button once the Blue LED light of the Eject button lights up.

Thanks for the info.
I have heard of this magic technique that people do on duo chips :D
But i am yet to try this, hope it works cause otherwise i will have to change the chip to an Infinity. :(
and thats just annoying
Will try it tonight and see how they go.

No these are 1:1 Backups of my Original PSX Games back before i bought the PS2, didnt want to loose my Games cause they are still fun to play. But sadly i am reluctant use my originals in case they damaged. But the backups arn't worknig at all on this console. :-(
Although My Ps2 originals and Backups of the same work fine
Im stumped, tried all the little work arounds, unless anyone knows of an alternate "S" solder point for the Duo 3 Gold on a PAL v7 Mobo
thats the only thing i can think of.

Try this: (works on any PS2 with ANY modchip support)
For slim:
Place your PS1 game in.
Then turn it on.
Reset it 2 times.
Then you're on the go!
For fat:
Insert your PS1 disc in.
Press reset one time.
Then you're on the go!
If not, reset it two or three times.

That will work anyhow. Whether backups or originals. It will!
