I was just wondering if anyone knows if original gameboy and gameboy color games can be played on DS. I would think so since DS supports GBA and GBA supports GBC. I have the original tetris dx which is why I'm curious.

bah, that sucks. Guess I'll just have to wait for the flashcart and emu support.

Ya the ds doesn't support gameboy games, only gba and ds games. You could, however, just use a regular gba flash cart, put a gameboy emulator on there, and load it like a gba game.

Yeah, but I don't have a flashcart, so I figure I'll just wait for the DS package. It also sucks cuz I have all my high scores in there. Eh, I guess I'll just have to beat them all on the DS when I get it;)

One more thing, I heard that the DS is gonna be coming in a blue color soon. Does anyone know when they're gonna come out?

Nintendo left out the chip that allows Gameboy Color games to be played on it. I think it's called Z80 r something.

The blue one is japan only for now I think along with the black and the white one. They will come out in colors here, probably within a few months. Trust me ds aint that good, I own both the ds and the psp, and the psp is the better console. Ds games so far suck, but then again so do psp games, I ain't impressed by any of the rehashes, but psp will probably have the better games. I'll get the neoflash probably sooner or later, or if something else comes along, but not until there are some games I'd want to play. I own 2 ds games, and 2 psp games, and the psp games have a higher play value.

I have to totally disagree. The psp may have the power, but as far as I can tell, that's about it. It's basically a mini ps2, hence the name psp (playstation portable). And of course, along with the added power comes the $250 price tag. No portable has every done well with a pricetag that hefty.

I think the DS is going to do great things. I watched the videos for electroplankton and was completely blown away. It's going to open the door to all kinds of unique games. I'm really excited about the future of the DS. It looks very promising.

The psp will probably end up having a lot more rehashes than the DS in the long run since it's basically a mini ps2. There's just nothing about it that says "wow, it's gonna do great things in the future." Only time will tell, but sony hasn't done anything special in the videogame arena yet so I don't see why they're going to start now. Don't get me wrong, I have a ps2 and I like it but there's so many crap games for it. It's like 75% crap : 25% good. The only reason it sells so well is because they brought in all the casual gamers. I won't even go into xbox; that's just a trainwreck and I wouldn't know where to start:D

Every game I've seen for the ds coming out just uses the touch screen as a gimmick, it doesn't really add to the experience at all. I would love to see some great games come out on the ds, and the psp for that matter, but nothing even coming out soon impresses me. I watched a couple of those videos for that ds game and I can't even figure out how that game works, altho honestly I wasn't watching too hard. 250 is steep for the psp, but at least there are value added features, like dvd makers releasing movies on umd, mp3, video, pics, etc. Nothing really blows me away on either console, but the psp is definitely the better system. FPS' on the ds are gonna be bad without an analog stick even tho you can use the touchscreen (metroid demo is just painful to play). I'll probably end up getting the few exclusives I wanna play for the ds, and any multiplatforms I'll get for the psp. I'm not even gonna talk about graphics, I care more about the gameplay than the graphics.

If you read the story about electroplankton and then watch the videos, you'll understand more and see how amazing it's gonna be. The touch pad is no gimmick for this game, it greatly enhances the experience (from what I can see). This game is going to open some innovative doors for the ds. Of course, it is way too soon to assume anything about software yet for either of them, but if electroplankton is any indication of the future of the DS, then the future is extremely bright.

Luckily I hate FPS so it's not an issue with me. I don't care about mp3 players or video or anything; that's what my dvd player's for:) I'm not being a fanboy or biased or anything, I just really don't see anything special about the psp and I've always had pretty low expectations from sony as far as video games go but I've already explained that.

Anyway, I agree. Gameplay is way more important than graphics. This is the main reason why I'll never touch an xbox:D

Yes, Nintendo left out GBC/GB backwards compatablity for some retarded reason. I don't see why they took it out... There shouldn't be any reason for that since nowdays making the chip should be extremely cheap. Oh well. Keep you GBA SP around for GBC games.
