Hey has anyone had any trouble ordering from www.aheadgames.com. I orderd my case last sunday and it is still in queue on their site and they havn't responded to any of my emails. I can't install my new qoob untill the case gets here because its coming with the gamebit. :(

I have never bought anything from them, but if you really want to install your Qoob, I suggest you try the BIC Pen method to open up your gamecube, as it works great.

Yeah i tried the bic method. Got one screw out but the rest are all stuck in too tight. They said on their site they ship within 24 hours and they won't relpy to my emails... I knew I should have paid the extra couple of bux to add the gamebit with my qoob order. www.foundmy.com is really fast they sent my qoob out the next day. Too bad they don't have the case replacments in stock yet.

When you go to unscrew the screws, make sure you push downward very hard, while you get the screw loose, as it gives it a better grip.

I got my full replacement case today (black).
There was a slight problem with the case shipment as they came with normal HEX bits instead of the GAMEBIT.
Due to this fact the owner of aheadgames purchase bits out of his own pocket and took a loss just to make sure the customer (you) got the deal they ordered for.
This problem caused a delay in shipping, but like I said I got my case today. It came packed inside bubblewrap, inside a box that was inside a packing envelope. The product was not damaged and works fine.
Look for a review in my next Mod That Cube FAQ.

Make sure you run it under cold water before you actually try to use it. Just a heads up since the first time I tried it it didn't work. The next time I ran it under cold water and it works great:)

Looks pretty nice;) Is it hard to get the discs out or do they come out pretty easily?

the vipergc passthru thing has to do with the lid sensor right?
does this case make it so that your gc knows the actual state?
or is it "always closed", nullifying the passthru function?
or is this not even an issue? someone shed some light on this please :p

It works just like the original one does.

soo, my (viper)gc will know that the lid is open when it's open and that it's closed when it's closed?
how does that work exactly? there's no wiring as far as i saw, or is there?

If your talking about the Viper wires, there are some wires to let it know.

yea, but, since there's no wiring on the case, how exactly is determined if the lid is closed or not?

The thing that tells if the case is open or closed isn't on the top part of the case its a little thing inside that gets pushed back when the lid is closed, take off your lid and you will see what i mean.

I believe there's three little black levers on the back right side of the top of the cube when the case is off. You'll know it's them because you can move them back and forth.

right, so when that thing nitroxeno mentioned gets pushed back, it closes some electronical circuit or something? alrighty then.

ok thank you =)
I ordered mine like April 15 or 16th and still in Queue. But I emailed them three times and no response yet. But they have charged my credit card already (on April 21) so I'm not sure what's going on. Anyone in the same situation?

Hey Clef this is the email i recieved from aheadgames:
"I'm writing regarding your recent order from Aheadgames.com. Unfortunately we have currently sold out of the Black and Purple Gamecube cases until we receive our next batch in which will hopefully be later next week. We do have a few Platinum cases left if you would rather have one of those instead (these will be issued on a first come first serve basis), or we can either hold your order until our next batch of cases come back in, or cancel your order.
My apologies for the inconvenience but I thank you for your patience and understanding. Please let me know how you would like us to proceed. Have a great day!
Best Regards,
Greg"
It turns out that a few people started to complain about aheadgames not responding to there emails and say they ripped them off (which is not true, they were working on getting gamebits included) so gamecubecase.com decided to stop shipping to ahead games and taking them off their site as a distributer. I emailed and canceled my order and my credit card was never charged. If your saying they charged your card (not paypal, but they did) then yours is most likely on the way just try emailing them... it might take 2 days or so to get an email back. I also just got this message from greg today.
"Sorry for the delay. Yes, I've gotten your email and I've cancelled your order.
Glad to hear that you understood what I was saying (I was starting to think that I was going insane!) I still don't understand their reasoning, but oh well, I'm done arguing with them, if they don't want to make money by selling to us, so be it.
I am looking into getting the Xtender cases however, so be sure to check back at the site, as I'll post a news headline once we start taking preorders and when they arrive in stock. Thanks again for sticking with us thru all of this! Let me know if you have any questions. Have a great day!
Best Regards,
Greg"

I had to file a paypal complaint before I could get a answer from them. Once I did that I got a email same day...and curiously....it shipped that day as well....with a request to remove my complaint. I of course waited until it arrived.
I will say though I like the case. Fits right and looks great. Couldnt be happier.
i recieved my platinum case from aheadgames
no complaints here about them..it did take a while but i am in canada and it came via regular mail, to be expected
the gamebit they included was perfect, it was a metal head for the switchable screwdriver tool and this is what they were waiting for before they shipped the proper cases.
i think they got screwed by gamecubecase.com
the case doesnt fit perfectly and i had to maintain pressure on the side with the power button while i screwed in that screw for it to be able to stay depressed.
overall i would say the replacement lid is dodgey at best, the lid is flimsy and its difficult to get a fullsize disc out, but hell it works...6/10..again this is not aheadgames fault
dol101, max drive evo, replacement lid, benq dvd+r media burnt at 4x, pioneer 109
