Hi, I received my Qoob chip yesterday. I installed it yesterday night and when I tryed it, I couldn't get anywhere but the GC Bios Screen (Memory Card, Game Play, Options ect.) Let's say I was not really happy. Then, I opened it up again today, and noticed that I did something wrong, I forgot the bridge! I soldered the two pins together and tryed it again, and it does the SAME! Everything is connected, my LED passthru is connected but it simply doesn't work! There's even no light
on the qoob chip. When I connect the qoob chip on my PC, it's fine, the green light lites up and transfert works fine.

Since I ordered 2 qoob chip, I tryed to connect my second one, and it does the same thing, so normally my connections aren't ok but I triple checked those damn connections...

UPDATE : I forgot to mention that my GC isn't broken, if I take the original LED wire to it's place, it boots fine my originals.

Any ideas ?

Need some help

Thanks

Have you flashed RC5 to the chip?

Yeah, I'm using the RC5, I think I'll try the official RC4, I don't think it will work, but who knows.

Same thing with RC4...if the green light doesn't lit up, does it mean that the 5V wire isn't properly connected ? (normally)

Thanks

I have another question, the 5V plate is between green PCB (two sides), if there's a tiny part of the rosine that touches the green PCB. Is that a potential problem ?

Normally, when is the green light activated ? On bootup, or when you plug the PWS cable ?

Thanks

The green qoob lled lights as soon as the cube is turned on and it goes of when you power off the cube. Its like a second power led but for the chip

I'll add another question to the bunch of others, if I don't have a bios, will the light be activted ?

Thanks for the quick answer dude.

Have you tried Qoob bios 1.1, which was released today? The thread is located HERE (http://forums.maxconsole.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=5412)

I'd say that there is something wrong with your installation then.

the light will even light up if only pwr and gnd is connected, did you forget the power cable? did you solder something to the wrong point?

lol, the power cable is connected ;) I checked the plans something like 15 times to be sure there wasn't any problem...I could be able to install another one without any plans...

I just unsoldered everything and soldered everything again. Still don't work. Damn, I hate this sh*t. I thought maybe my yellow wire could touch the radiator, so I've put a little tape...my case is open, there can't be any more "touching" problem...

I think I'll check if there's 5V on the red wire.

Damn, I don't remember how to use this stupid digital multimeter, lol. I guess I'll just have to wait so my dad can show it to me again ;)

I FOUND THE PROBLEM! When I was connecting the WHITE CONNECTOR the the mod-chip, I'd never push enough!! Simple as that.

Thanks everybody who helped me.
