Hello everyone,

I have a recent problem with my modded GC. My Qoob pro chip (1.3a bios) has worked more or less flawlessly for a year, but about 2 weeks ago, it stopped booting games. Neither originals nor backups function. All I get is the "CHECK LID SWITCH WIRE" message. I checked the wires and they seem fine, re-soldered my green wire which was a bit flack, but no result. The led itself lights up and the bios boots each time. Can some hints me as to what might be wrong with my unstall, or is my qoob dead? Thanks!

Could be the switch itself has gone dead. I'd put a toggle switch across it and see if that worked... if it does, the lid switch is dead, but if it does the same thing, it's something else.

Thanks for youe answer! I'm not sure about the switch being dead though... I just tried to connect the lid switch wire directly to the lid switch (without going through the qoob), and to my great surprise now both originals and backups boot again, if a bit slower than before... I don't really understand why it works and what use is the lid switch wire. Could someone explain this mistery to me and tell me if it's all right to keep things as they are now?

I had a very similar problem.. I opened up the machine to adjust the POT, closed it up, and all I got was LID SWITCH ERROR.. I thought I blew the POT or something... anyways, I uplugged and replugged all connections, and still, CHECK LID SWITCH error kept coming... At this point, I reopened up the whole thing, up to the lens compartment, and unplugged and reconnected the LID SWITCH CABLE next to the POT adjustment screw-thing... after doing that, and closing up and reconnecting everything, it seems to be fine.. hope that helps..
