Hi ,

Just Got My Qoob Chip And Installed It Got The Green Light On The Qoob Chip So All Looks ok, Flashed It To RC5 And Worked On Original And Also Copied Disc. So I put The Cube Back Together And Now All I Get On The Qoob Menu Is Lid Switch Error Check Lid Wire Message, And Yes I Have Looped The Lid Sensor Switch To The Qoob Chip And Back To The Switch. Checked The Wiring And all seems Ok.
Has Anyone Else Had This Prob ?

It really sounds like something has came loose, double and triple check your connections. Its good to see you got your chip already. I'm still waiting on mine =(

Ok let me know what they say, I’ve had an electronics engineer check the connections and re solder the wires, still does the same “check lid wire!”.
He even check the wires with a multi meter to and from the chip inc lid switch wires,
I’m pretty sure the chips faulty and I’ve contacted Game Freax for an RMA returns.
But Please let me know how you get on with qoob response.
Thanx.

What bios did you have before 1.1? Where did you get 1.1? I thought RC5 was the latest.

No 1.1 is the newest :-) its brand new!!!

and it comes with a new flasher!!

klick here (http://www.gamefreax.de/gamefreax/root/_DOWNLOADS_/GAMECUBE/qoob-corner/qoob_11.zip)

But the Disc Swap feature doesn't run with my Qoob pro - think there are some bugs left on my Chip ... :(

@gargoyle67 -
The direct Disc swap doesn't work with our chip. There's an error left on it!!! Try to power up your cube and boot with closed Lid a Game like Resi 4 on second disc and swap to first after message. than the chip hangs again! I thinks that's a fault from our Lid Switch Error ...

Just Tried that and your right booted Res Evil 4 Disc 2 with my finger holding down Switch sensor and took it off when asked for second disc, swaped the disc and pressed the sensor again and the game just has the same swap disc message =(.
Do you think there is a bug in our chips ? or is it just incompatibility issue with certain types of gamecubes ?.
Also do you think it's something the qoob people can iron out with future
bios updates ?.
Game freaxs said i could send my chip back and they would send out a new one, do you think it's worth it?.
And what’s with the audio crackling on Res4, do u get this with your copy ? , mines NTSC version on pal cube.

Thanx.

:: Hi. I an a user whit the same error, but I have my own solution that are work. The only think you must do is change the Lid Wire by the original Wire of GameCube, and leave the one of qoob disconnected. I try it whit RE4 and work perfectly, when you open the cover the disc stop, is normal, the original Lid Wire are connected. You will already tell me that so :) . Good Luck.

:: PD: Sorry by my poor english, I am Spanish. See ya.

Already sent mine back to game freax, i wonder if i shorted mine out on the heatsink with the yellow wire, because i noticed that the yellow wire would have been touching the heatsink were i trimmed it back.
Anyway i'll be more careful this time and if it does the same i'll try our spanish friends solution.

Thanx.

A stupid question to the people having lidswitch problems:

Did you really follow the qoob *PRO* installation manual, not the *SX* one? If you followed the SX one, everything appears to work but the litswitch doesn't all the time.. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. (I made this experience by myself.. stupid me) so before returning it, check that you soldered the red wire to the correct place.

:: Hi. Red Wire are soldering in the correct place, "5V Golden Disc" :

http://www.qoobchip.com/images/diagrams/qoob_pro_gc_ab.jpg

:: The installation and Lid Wires are correct, but anyone don't know the problem, including Qoob Team, that according to them, they are looking for alternative 5V points. See ya.

:: Hi. 3:33 AM, I finish the video :D , now all can see of what I talk about:

Download "Qoob Lid Wire Problem MultiDisc Solution Video" (http://pulsar.ensalza.com/tgxcorp/files/otros/Qoob Lid Wire MultiDisc Video.zip)

:: I used my old camera, the quality are not excellent, but is good... it lasts 3:40 minutes and it occupies 10MB ((12MB aprox. un-ziped)) . See ya.

I tried it that way for you guys who didn't want to and it allowed for the swapping of the disc fine, it takes longer to boot the backup though when you turn the gamecube on though.

Yesterday i changed my qoob pro with the lid switch error with a new one i got... without soldering just plugged to the wires wich i soldered with my old qoob ...

Now all works fine (Disc Swap now works and booting is much faster than before!)

and offcourse all Bios Versions works now for me ...

Strange - i think my old qoob which i resend back to freakware was corruptet ...
