I just got my Cyclowiz modchip (ordered way back on February 11 when Wiikey was still a bit mysterious) and have some questions about soldering and the chip

So I did not receive any flux with the soldering kit that came with the Cyclowiz, and am wondering if it is necessary for the installation. It's supposed to make it easier to solder, but will the chip work even if i don't use the flux? And also, does DVD+R or possibly DVD-RW media work on the Cyclowiz at the moment? I don't really want to waste my some dozens of DVD+R media and DVD-RW to buy DVD-R media, so I'm just curious. (Brands are Windata and Imation)

Thanks for any help. :)

dont solder without flux. simple.

you`ll find it much easier. do it without and you risk dry joints, reheating the point many times etc etc , and possibly fookin your install up.

flux is essential.
