View Full Version : Strange Wiikey Install

So I did a wire install on my wiikey with a 15w iron and 30awg wire. I used all the correct equipment, but I'am a little inexperienced. Anywho, I got all the wires on the correct solder pads, but the LED doesn't light up at all. So just for kicks I put in a backup of warioware and it works perfect. This is the thing I don't understand. They have some kind of upgrade thing on there website and I downloaded it and burnt it at x4 on sony DVD. It comes up to the screen but I can't change any thing. I tried doing the gamecube and the other one. Im very confused. Any help? Thanks

You need a GC pad to alter the options if you use a gc setup disc. You use the reset button if you use the non-gc Controller setup disc.

The Gui does not save the changes you make either. So if you change something, and load up the disc again, it will not show that change in the GUI, even though the option is alterred on the firmware of the wiikey itself.

I have the gamecube pad and it doesn't work with my setup disk. I can't get it to move on the screen. Also I can' use the reset button either. I got to use the reset button setup disk once and after that I have been unable to change anything.

yes thats correct.

Firstly wiikey has no led. You install it, and thats it.

Depending on what setup disc you downloaded its different. If you downlaod the wii disc (no gamecube pad required) pressing reset on the console will toggle the menu, but to activate what you toggle, you must press and HOLD the reset button.

Other than that sounds like a successful install, nice one!

thats because the Wiikey has no LED ;).. The Cyclowiz has a LED :D

I had problems with the update disc. I did not use the reset one but the one with the controller. The program was very slow and would not read the inputs from my controller some times.

well I tried using the reset one and it only worked the first time. After that I hold down the reset button and nothing happens. Also was is the point in changing the disk speed for the wiikey?
