close, but no cigar... wiikey have a 'fourth' connector to the drive chip.. this is more like a wiinja deluxe strapped onto a pcb... as long as they work... it's all good

This will sure make me high, ;).

Same features as all the other chips, whats so special about this one? It looks like it even has a cheap PCB.

Same mod as wiikey. And that very specialized company that has made this is Matrix, very well known for chips for ps2.I will buy a chip, when that chip allows me to play other region games(ALL GAMES,not just partially),untill then, they are all the same.

if its really the matrix team, well congrats.

but a 12F629 or a 12c508 you can only do so much updating to them.
check the specs. now if they could use an atmel 2313 then that is more impressive.

Who would have thought that with all these free PIC codes out there that we would end up seeing a pic chip stuck on a quicksolder board? I'm sure their specifcations had nothing to do with the fact that WAB's new loader contains all of these features (aside from dvd upgrade, of course). Funny because one of the free chip codes is based on the last version of WAB's loader, and we know damn well that the new features could easily be implimented in the next version, ripped off, slapped on a PCB, and if sold for more than $2 is a f*cking rip off. This is lame.

I don't see what the f*cok is so special about this chip. I read this thinking of great features, and all I see is the same old crap. The chip looks like it's been dragged through a school of nerds, and ran over by a few disgruntled moms. Like, really, who writes this stuff? I barely even trust or read the news here anymore, seeing as everything is so loose because of royalties to other groups. The only things I do read anymore are the reviews.

a little too late. i'm gettin my wiikey installed this week:)

and honestly unless a chip can trump over wiikey by having multiple new features that people want then i dont see wiikey going anywhere.

cyclowiz will stick around but they will eventually be a distant 2nd imo.

Unless this chip is seriously cheap,I just can't see why anyone would bother buying it.
If you want the business get a Wiikey, otherwise stick with WiiFree

Also this is the MATRIX TEAM, but not the Matrix Team that gave us the best selling chip on the PS2 on an Actel chip and high quality board, this is the other matrix team with cheap ripoffs.

Heres the good guys - http://www.infinitymod.com/matrix/

And heres the other guys who ripped off the good guys and who created this crappy pic on a board with what i believe to be the wiinja deluxe on their chip - www.matrixmod.com

nuff said.

That chip looks really dodge if you ask me. It either has to be sleeker and easier to install than current chips or have better features or both. This has none. Try again.

it seems to be able to play ALL ntsc-games on pal-wii's and vice versa (instead of the "70% compatibility" of the other chips)

i guess that advantage isnt too big... wiikey will be able to add compatibility via upgrades, regarding ntsc/pal-games on pal/ntsc-wii's, right?

I can assure you , this will not play all NTSC games on pal....

wiikey already said that the compatibility isnt something that they can update the chip and HURRA you have 100% games running...

a very promising upcoming Wii mod known as the WiiD
Promising? Let's see. Amongst the features that pretty much every other modchip offers, this one stands out:
- Supports Multi-Disc/Multigames games for BOTH Wii and Gamecube
If by "Multigames games" they meant "multigame discs" I'd very much like to see how in the world they manage to get homebrew running on the Wii with just a drive mod. Because that's what it takes to get multiple games on a disc. I suppose they just meant to brag about multidisc games still working with the chip installed when their language skills left them standing in the rain.

Anywho, having successfully built and installed my Chiip on saturday I must say I'm seriously underwhelmed. Certainly nowhere near "high". Why the ridiculously exaggerated sales pitch, I ask?

lmao good half baked ref. :D

I think they're just trying to take credit for emu_kidid's hard work on the new self booting GCOS multi-game discs.

The only new chip that will stand out above all is to create one that plugs in the usb port, or gamecube memory card port, so you don't have to open the Wii to solder. But that is just wishful thinking ;)

or one that breaks core console security so we can develop homebrew apps for the wii, replace the dashboard, and have a hell of a time with it..

Hmm...looks like a normal PIC soldered to a poor PCB to make it "quicksolder".
But I think the strange part is, that this is the first modchip without a homepage (only listed at divineo for about $40).
How would you get updates ? Where could you get more info´s ? This is not very serious in my eyes, but I doubt anyone would pay $40 for such a chip if he can get much better ones for that money anyway.
Just my 2 cents.
