I already a 2000+ hole bunched pc board thingy majig, but I do not know how you are supposed to wire it.

How are these PC grid boards supposed to be wired? Do you just solder holes together, or run wires from them?

Does it matter if the solder goes over to an empty hole on accident?

AND, how do I mount the 9 pin female serial port to the board so I can plug it into my pc? (like in this pic...i don't see how that serial port thing holds the chip up when it is plugged into the pc):

It's all held with solder... but if you havn't done anything like this before, it might not be a good idea to do so...

I guess he's using a cable from the computer to the programmer.

Oh that could work...What does the average citizen do? I think I may just have the wires going to the 9 pin female be long so the programmer can be on the ground and then plug in.

I don't have one of those. Should I hot glue and tape it on? Or should I make the wires from the board to my female 9 pin long so the board is on the ground and I can plug in the wired 9 pin?

lol the 9 pin thing slides in between the board. The top 5 pins are on top and lower 4 pins on bottom of the board. I guess this will work. I might add some hot glue or something.

Does it hurt to put hot glue directly ontop and over solder?

Thanks

Think they do that in the Wii chip install videos. Shouldn't be a problem.

I didnt mount my parts onto anything. Just wired it all up and packed it into a casing.

That looks sweet, but I think for a novice mounting it is easier. :)
