Ok My friend got 2 wiikeys and installed his perfectly and it loaded everything fine. He attempted it on mine and faced problems. One of the pads were close to pad 3 so he tried desoldering it and the pad 3 got destroyed. So he traced it to the IC chip and soldered it. Also this connection went to the wiikey chip which funnily had to use the alternate point too. All the connetions were tested with a voltmeter and it looked as there was no bridging done. So when we tried to load a backup and the config disc,it wont load. It says unregnised disc. All originals work. Please what could be the problem? What shall I do sell it and get a new one?

I have posted a pic with with the alternate wiring on the IC chip

Based on this thread (http://forums.maxconsole.net/showthread.php?t=52239) the person had to cut the traces in between the missing PCB point and the leg. If your friend has not already done this then this might be your solution. You can do this by just scratching out the trace with a razor on the board (carefully of course :-)

Thanks for the replies guys except the girl comments. Do u think it could be possible that there is some kind of bridging on the IC chip that is causing disc read error?

Is there an actual guide on how to solder on the traces or the best wat to solder on the IC chip without bridging?

I dont think you can actually solder on the actual trace. You have to cut the trace in case it is still conducting to another connection. As for soldering on the leg of the chip, I heard the best way to avoid bridging is to use two razor blades to isolate the one leg while soldering.

Thanks for the reply but what do mean the traces might be connected? And I think the best thing now is to try the razor blade technique.

Also If I format my system will I lose my save files?

Based on the thread link I gave on by earlier post, the person had to cut the trace in order to get it to work while soldering on the IC chip. It's pretty much an assumption that the trace was connected somewhere because after he cut the trace it started to work.

As for your save files, you will need to move your Mii's to the remote, and use the Wii data options to move your save game files from the Wii to an SD card.
