A homebrew developer seems to be making strong strides in an attempt to bring GPS functionality to the DS. He has promised to make sure this project evolves as it is something he loves doing.

Today i finally made it. Not only do i get raw data on screen, now i can format it too. But there is more!

It got graphics now!

This weekend i tight all code snippets that i made and tested the last week together into my first version of a GPS device. I am amazed how accurate it is. despite the old SiRF II chipset. I had many hurdles to take and i took them all. I love this project and i will continue to make it better.

Nice idea ... i also have had the question to me ... Will it ever be possible to get a homebrew program to convert the NDS into a navigator ;)

...so i think about it how can the GPS Position be transmitted to the DS ... with a mic/earphone adapter which works like those ancient acoustic coupler .. but which GPS device had has such an interface  so i've never thougt about a real GPS homebrew due the lack of connectivity.

And so:
How does the guy have connected the GPS mouse onto the NDS?
...and further where to get the map data from?
...and will it ever be practicable ... due the lack of a ingenious frontends of nearly every homebrew that is still out there ... and so, will it ever be that a person spends so much unpaid time on such a project? ...OK it would be nice but i never think that those tool can match with devices like TomTom but the future will show it :)
