I'd def recommend going back and check the solder job on the wires. Is the green LED on the chip? Try reflashing it with Release Canidate 5. I will be getting my qoob chip later this week and can prob help you more.
Also try using GCOS (latest ver) if the other stuff doesn't work.

Not many people have recieved their Qoobs yet, so no-one really knows much about it yet. I will be recieving mine sometime this week, but I most likely won't get this error(as I don't think anyone else has)
The best thing to do is probably send a email to the Qoob makers, from their website and ask them about it.

The solution is simple:
the bios on www.qoobchip.com is a "legal" one, which doesn't permit booting non-original discs.
Get the non-official version. Unfortunately i didn't find a link to the newest RC5 (the one which has DVD+R support and DRE fix), so i don't have a link. You can get the old version in gamefreaks' download page, but i strongly suggest searching the RC5.
Finally the final release should be out very soon - at least i hope that.

Nice catch. It is usually the smallest oversight that confuses people. I didn't even think about that. Great point. I hope that it is indeed the issue.

I already have a Viper GC, and I love it, but I want to install a chip in my 2nd gamecube, and I figured I might as well try the Qoob Pro:D

I probably would done that too, if I had a second gc, but I dont see the point in getting a 2nd. Why did you buy 2 gc´s? anyways I ordered a viper last month from freakware and it was sold out so they promised me to ship me the qoob for the same price. Pretty nice. :D But noone told me that shipping would start only at 14th.04.05. :o. As I followed the tracker they gave me they shipped on friday and it should be here today I hope. So I and many others who didnt receive their qoob yet should be able to help out soon. And I didnt even think about that the qoob team would make 2 bioses.

The reason that I have two gamecubes is that I purchased one way back when they came out (November 18th 2001), and then a couple months ago, I bought 2 broken gamecubes off a guy, and was able to make one working one. So I really have three gamecubes, only two are working though :D
