A new build of the popular PSP homebrew movie streamer has been released which now supports streaming of movies to the Wii and PS3 too! Just point your respective browsers in the right place, and away you go!

Wii? Miiii? Yeah! Now you can watch your favorite movies on your Wii, streaming from your PC! Just as easy it is for PSP users, now PiMPStreamer extends its use by being a fully HTTP browsable FLV video streamer… Just point your browser at it! You can even use it on a FLV capable pocket PC. Or PS3 !! (not tested)

that takes a while, just get a Modded XBOX and play it off your PC via file sharing, shorter, nothing to install, plus no re compression. my2cents.

XBMC is still the reigning champ for streaming videos. This is nice for people who don't have modded xbox's, though.

Well, except for those of us who've ripped all of our DVDs to, and also have everything else sitting on, a 2 terabyte RAID5 server in another room. I'd take having all of my movies just a click away over having to burn to a DVD. However, it's still a lot better to stream it to a modded Xbox 1 vs a web browser, especially Wii's gimped one.

But, I guess I'm lame ROFLMAOOMG!!!11!

Agreed. XBMC will always be my primary choice of streaming (yes you can burn to a DVD, but I usually wait until I have enough to FILL a DVD....plus I have 600GB of space so I'm in no hurry to burn until it is organized and cataloged).

I'll try this (simply because I try everything once), but I don't think a web browser could ever compare to all the options available in XBMC.
This is great for people who only have a Wii or their other systems are unmodded.

Also I remember MS bragging about how we would be doing this on the 360.....to bad it still sucks.

so can this be sent wirelessly through my pc's wireless receiver ( I guess it transmits data aswell)?

And can movies be played in full screen or just a browser?

And can the wiimote be used to skip chapters, navigate menus, etc?

I'm watching all full seasons of scrubs via xmbsp (streaming). Burning can be a biznatch when you can do everything on the fly:rolleyes:
Agreed! My 2 cents!

quality of stream seems pretty crap. Plus it can't do full screen or scanning, etc..

Think I'll stick with DVD-R

Same for me. While I do think is is somewhat cool, it is much nicer to just make a bootable disc with MFE, and the movies you want to watch(especially since you can now go to 4.7GB on the disc :)).

I'm using a DVD+RW, so I can just erase it and do another for more movies.

Whats MFE?

mfe= Media front end.

It is basically Mplayer for linux, but ported to the gamecube. With mfe, you are able to watch basically any video format on the gamecube/wii.

Here is a link to the player.

http://rapidshare.com/files/20524200/mfe-wii.rar.html

Use those files and one of the bootable disc creators to make a MFE disc with your xvid movies on it.

You will need to have your video files and mfe-fs.bz2 on the disc, and then have mfe-bo18.dol as the bootable dol.

After you make the disc, just put it in your wii and and boot it from GC mode.

NOTE: Some of the bootable disc makers restrict the file size to 1.4GB(since they were made for the GC), but if you get one that doesn't, you should be able to add as many movies as you want(upto 4.7GB).

EDIT: To make it even easier for you, here is a link to BootableDisc3, something I did quite a while ago that should let you use the full 4.7GB of the DVD. Make sure you read the README file so you know how to use it.

http://rapidshare.com/files/20532533/Boota...Modder.rar.html

Just make sure you have mfe-fs.bz2 in the first 1.4GB of the disc. TO do that, rename your movie files(just add a letter(after "m" in the alphabet) to the biginning of the file name. For example rename blood-diamond.avi to z_blood-diamond.avi
