Yeah I know.....but it'll cost about 69.00 eur (chip only)!! I'm from the netherlands but still decided to buy at Eurasia since I just paid $64 including shipping costs. and $64 is about 53 eur. So maybe I had to wait a little longer since it had to be shipped from about the other side of the world but it saved me about 16 eur (or $19) So I guess that's worth waiting for (at least for me).

So I would recommend Eurasia, it was the cheapest I could find (shipping included that is). One remark though: I don't know about the other sellers but Eurasia ships without the little cardboard box (probably to keep it cheaper) that is included on all the Qoob-pictures, everything else was there though (including the sticker :p ).

Foundmy had some problems for a while, most were out of his control. Anyways, since those problems were sorted out, he has once again become reliable, and no-one has had any problems with him.

For people in Finland, http://modpiiri.com sells qoob chips, and also you can get it installed to your own Cube. This is easy for people in Jyväskylä, others have to mail their cubes and pay little extra for it to be mailed back.

I ordered the Qoob Pro Bundle from them on 30 July with a delivery estimate of 2-4 days (International FedEx US$37).

Nothing had arrived by 27 August. I have emailed them three times, but they did not reply.

After 38 days all I have received is 2 automated emails and a stiff credit card charge

I have since discovered that my experience is typical:
http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showtopic=159356&st=135

I think modwhiz should be removed from the list of recommended sites in this thread. It stands as an example of appalling service and shady practices.

Just to chime in on my experience with Modwhiz, I've been having similar issues. Ordered a couple of Qoob chips only to find out the next day they ran out of stock. This was right when even Qoob Team was advertising a big shortage, so I figured, alright, no problem, it's not their fault, and they advertise that their chips should be back in stock by the 17th...

2 days later, my CC was already charged. Now, they don't even have the stock, and don't expect it for at least a week at this point in time. Shady to charge customers before the stock is even in.

I inquire, and the chips should be in on the 17th as they say, so I figure, ok, now's a good time to order a couple more chips and add it to the order to save on shipping...

I get charged the extra shipping too. I gripe to them, and I'm told my account will be credited. Several days later, and no funds have been put back into my Visa.

As of today, they're still saying they don't have chips in yet. Now, I don't doubt them, however, I'd already been charged for orders THREE WEEKS BEFORE that still haven't shipped.

I've been told I can get a full refund now, and have put the request in. Now, I'll let everyone here know how long it takes for the refund to actually happen. If it's quick, ie they put it through the Visa system tomorrow (I know it will take a few days to actually show up in my account), then I'll chalk it up to a rough experience that not everyone has. One person I installed a Qoob Pro for got his order pretty quickly (though, not to Modwhiz's credit, they sent him the wrong color Viper case, a gold instead of silver)...

This leads me to a new question: Does anyone know of ANY Qoob selling stores in the Toronto area? I'd like to cut out shipping all together here, instead of having to order from Alberta/BC...

Edit: PCGamer, there are more than likely a couple of installers (meaning not a store front like modwhiz, etc) who would be willing to do an install. I'm perfectly willing to do a premod (my rate is 50$ for Qoob SX/Pro install, plus the price of the chip, system and shipping), however, you might wanna look into finding someone a little more local to Israel to save on shipping charges. Still, if you want, pm me...

Thank you for describing yor experience.

List them, please ;)

I'm perfectly willing to do a premod
Sorry, I really don't want to offend you, but I'd likely order it from a trusted online store (want to find one first ;)). If not, I can do all required soldering by myself (I hope :)).

Does anybody know some trusted stores that offer pre-mod GameCube ?
Does this (http://www.gamefreax.com/cgi-bin/shop/lshop.cgi?action=showdetail&wkid=2964&ls=e&nc=1130750878-9808&rubnum=&artnum=2118&file=&gesamt_zeilen=0Tsuche--gamecube) mean they will mode my GameCube ? Is it possible to buy from them pre-mod GameCube if I don't have one yet ?

Maybe the best solution for me is to buy following items:
1) Nintendo Gamecube platinum (http://www.gamefreax.com/cgi-bin/shop/lshop.cgi?action=showdetail&wkid=2964&ls=e&nc=1130750878-9808&rubnum=&artnum=9385&file=&gesamt_zeilen=0Tsuche--gamecube)
2) Mega Bundle: GC - qoob PRO Chip & GameCube Case XCM [silver] + 4MB Memorycard (http://www.gamefreax.com/cgi-bin/shop/lshop.cgi?action=showdetail&wkid=2964&ls=e&nc=1130750878-9808&rubnum=&artnum=9785&file=&gesamt_zeilen=0Tsuche--gamecube)
3) Game-Bit (http://www.gamefreax.com/cgi-bin/shop/lshop.cgi?action=showdetail&wkid=2964&ls=e&nc=1130751510-20299&rubnum=&artnum=107&file=&gesamt_zeilen=0Tsuche--GameCube)
4) 15W soldering pencil (which one is the best ?)
and "mod that Cube" ;) by myself ?

BTW: Is gamefreax (http://www.gamefreax.com/) a REALLY trusted store ?

Where can I buy GameCube for it's official price 99,99$ ? (In Israel the price is about 230$ - w/o qoob PRO, of course :()

Is there any any demo-discs that come with new GameCube - just to check that the GameCube is OK before I'll download and burn some games for it ?

a pre-mod is when they ship you a "new" cube with the chip already installed. If you already have a cube, then you're just looking for an installer.

Also, no offense taken. You don't know me, and I'm also a few continents away. Dude, all you really need is someone who is confident with a soldering iron. Find a friend who's willing to do it, and just order the chip from anywhere. Seriously, only people who are really afraid of electronics can't solder a cube, it's like 6 wires and easy as pie to dismantle (god bless Nintendo's hardware designers).

For demo discs, maybe get one of the bundle systems that come with etiher Mario Party, Smash Bros, Pokemon, etc.

MODWHIZ: Gave them a call today, and they said they've put in my refund to Visa. Should show up in a few days. I'l wait til monday before I get the VISA Fraud demons on their ass.

My new rule, especially with x-mas coming, no more installs unless the client brings their own chip. I can't afford to wait over a month for stock that never arrives again and lose all my clients in the process.

I have also just ordered from http://consolesource.ca and must admit I'm quite pleased. Ordered it on a Thursday, it arrived on Monday and that was using the cheapest shipping option. Of course I imagine living in Toronto I'm closer to a shipping warehouse :)

Qoob Pro, Nintendo screwdriver, Viper case, shipping, taxes all came to just under $100 USD.
Must admit I'm quite pleased with the extensive knowledge available on this forum, I've been reading for the past couple days and I'm going to test it by installing it tonight.

Got mine from GameShopUSA.com (http://www.gameshopusa.com) a while ago. I wouldn't say that they're the quickest, it's just that I ordered my QP from them in October, they were on backorder. I got it about a month later. The cool thing though is that they kept me up to date with the order status, and also upgraded shipping method from registered mail to next day.

It was delivered by DHL. No installation instructions came with the QP, but that's what the internet is for.

I'd recommend buying from them, but be sure to email them on product availaility before placing the order.

I was talking about the chip on its own. Not the buggy flashing software...

Either way, you don't sound trustworthy to me. Many people here have had good service from foundmy (myself included), yet you come in here trying to trash him and charging twice as much. You sound like some arrogant teenager. I know that I personally would never buy something from someone who acted the way you do here.

I haven't be able to check the forum since holliday season, so I missed all the fights and bla, bla, bla.

I have bought qoob sx from xbox-modchip.com and foundmy, I recommend foundmy. If He doesn't have stock he answers you and gives you a explanation. (Xbox-modchip takes millions of years to answer).

I know qoob sx and pro moves so fast, so you have to be pacient. On my first order I placed it on Monday at 5 PM and I received the Items on Tuesday 3PM. (Couldn't believe it)

Anyways This just to make a point, I prefer people that takes care of customers and gives you some hints.

thanks Terry and hope you to can accept my orders again

They seem to be mainly sponsored by Divineo, which doesn't carry Qoob chips at all.
I got my Pro from Eurasia. Quick inexpensive shipping and the lowest price I've found anywhere.

G'day, I'm in Australia.

I've only ordered one QOOB Pro, once from www.acegamestore.com and found them to have fast postage and cheap prices.
Free postage for a chip.

They can apparantly do installs too.

I also bought a gamebit from them. Unfortunately it was very poor quality and after using it twice it has worn significantly.

Anyone know where I can order a proper driver (not just a bit) from? They need to ship international.

I bought the Qoob Pro Bundle with the case. I recieved the UPS tracking the same day i orderd it. They even called me to make sure my wierd address was correct because i live in a city that sounds like others. I will be doing my business with them from now on.

I was quite happy with the Qoob Pro I got from www.foundmy.com. His prices are really competitive for a US-based retailer, and he even throws in 5 mini-cds to get you started. Now I have to resist the temptation to get an Xbox so I can mod that as well!

EDIT: It's a nice gesture, but those freebie mini-dvds are crap. 1 out of 5 of them burned successfuly with Nero. It's better to stick with Ritek...

orb_nsc: really, we did find that some dvd burners needed a firmware update to understand some of the mini-dvdr media or it wouldn't burn it properly. we have given away and sold over 5000 pcs, this is what we found out. I would like to know which dvd burner and rev of nero did you use. And again, some people have had to adjust their laser to the sweet spot. I am sorry the mini dvdr media didn't work out as well for you as others have had success with it.

I assumed they wouldn't be top notch media, so I went with the extension cord instead. ;) Foundmy got my order out fast and everything was correct.

Actually, it turns out that the disc I thought burned fine is actually bad too. I have a Toshiba SD-R5372 with the TU56 Firmware. I burned them all at 2x with Nero 6 Express. I've probably had a 90% success rate with Riteks.

Even without the discs it was an unbeatable deal though, though if I had to do it over I would have picked the extension cable. :)

Some people require a laser tweak on their unit.

You have to get to the board that is enclosed under the laser housing (metal casing where the laser sits on).

Here is a picture I got from a customer on where/how to tweak the laser. Some units do not require this, but others do if you are not getting mini (or even full size) dvdr to boot up properly.

http://www.foundmy.com/oscom/images/fm-gc-tweak-laser.bmp

I hope this helps you.

I want to buy Qoob Pro, but I don't have credit card.
Just found couple of online stores that accept Western Union money transfers:
http://www.eurasia.nu/
http://www.mod-chip.com/

What do you guys think of them ?
Maybe you know some other stores that accept Western Union ?

P.S. I'm from Israel.

Not sure why you have had problems orb, but I was very happy with the discs from foundmy.com. I have seen people say they have "90% success" with Ritek and I have had better than that. Of the several dozen backups I have burned, only 1 has failed as a result of the disc - other than the ones that worked until my 5-year-old daughter or 1-year-old son destroyed them. I don't think I can hold foundmy responsible for discs physically damaged in that way, although I suppose I could be all American about it and try :p

I ordered from foundmy.com using COD, and I did have a problem getting my last order of mini discs (back in January of this year), but when the problem was discovered he sorted it out and I've been happily mucking with my Qoob ever since.

I ordered mine today from http://www.xbox-modchips.com/gamecube-premodded.htm for $242 + about $22 or so for shipping.

I'm not sure what brand is the case I ordered though; it says "Full case crystal $32.49", but the photos on another page only show some cheap ones. It better not look ugly next to my black PS2... Also, it doesn't clarify if it's an NTSC model (it probably is since it's a US site - I live in EU); I already sent them an email. We'll see how this turns out.

I got the black GC specifically to match my PS2. The two sit right next to each other, and the matching black color looks nice. I installed my own QOOB to save money.
