Okay, so i have installed 4 v1 cyclowiz's up untill today. Today i got another one i ordered from Divineo, com for a friend. When i recevied it i noticed it was one from the bad batch and had been repaired (cut) by divineo. Okay no problem, they said they test them all before shipping so we are okay. I install the chip 5 wires at first just to make sure everything is okay, blinking led, re solder and check everything 4 times now, always blinking. I think at this point one of the solder pads on the chip is bridged (after de soldering). Im attaching some pictures just so you can see but they don't help see if the chip is bridged. So my question to everyone would be, can you see anything wrong, and also if i buy a $10 multimeter at frys will it work to test this?
Multimeter i was considering - http://shop2.outpost.com/product/4076692?site=sr:SEARCH:MAIN_RSLT_PG

This has a continuity tester that beeps when you touch the two points if they are bridged.

Has the trace been cut from the B point? It's a little hard to tell from the picture, but it looks like the trace may have been cut.

THAT WAS IT, Divineo.com cut the board to much in attempt to fix it and cut the B trace, scrapped the via and soldered to it... WORKS GREAT!!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH sMURFFRUMs

Ha, I thought that cut looked a bit deep. Good to hear it's working now.

Hi,I have the same problem with my cyclowiz and Wii
Your Wii and cyclowiz are fine.
You can connect your Wii DVD driver to another wii,it will work.
OR unplug your Wii DVD driver's power cable, turn on your wii, then plug in the power cable. It will work until you turn off the Wii(LED red)
Wiinja works fine for this kind of Wii.
