Thanks for German-Guy for the idea... still very crude... i will eventually dremmel the wii case and make the db9 male connector internal just like the german did :D

But this is for tests and using my wii to play backups with the syndicate loader until anything better comes out :)

Working just fine and of course... when some hex comes out i can just use a socket inside a db9 female and connect to it :)

What is that orange thing? is it a led? Fuse?

I plan on added a db9 port on my wii too. I looking through comp usa since they have some parts I need for certain jobs, I came across these though, since I would like to have 15ft cord from my wii to my desktop.http://www.compusa.com/products/product_info.asp?pfp=SEARCH&Ntt=Db25&N=0&Dx=mode+matchall&Nty=1&D=Db25&Ntk=All&product_code=50078610&Pn=Pro_Series_AT_Serial_Printer_Cable

Would these work with the pin setup of external female db9 port that is for mod chips and the dvd loader?

Or I could go the cheaper route and make my own cords.. any tips?

That "orange thing" is a capacitor

I know they are used for storing energy or something like that.
Why do you need it exactly in that config?
