Hello
I installed the cyclowiz modchip. I had to cut portions of it to work, "yes i got a defective one :P"
Anyways, I installed this chip, and i turned on the machine before putting it back together. The green light on the modchip, stays solid green. So I take it the installation was correct.
Also, I soldered a wire to the "S" section, which enables upgrading. I did not though install the on/off switch, for this upgrading feature, seeing if I have just the "S" soldered, it will stay on no matter what.
I also soldered the disable function. The "Z" section, a wire going from the Z part of the modchip, to the middle leg of the reset switch.
Now, my originals work fine, they appear in the wii menu, and they appear when i click the game icon.
I tried burning Twilight Princess using Nero 7.5.9.0. I went to Recorder/Burn Image/and I selected the .iso "oh if you view the iso in the windows folder, it says it's 4,589,824. I selected the iso, and burned at 12x
I tried putting the burnt disc in my wii, and it didn't boot.
I also tried burning this with Alcohol 120, but when I selected the iso, it brought up a menu asking me to set a break point of some sort? It was a image file format window that popped up.
I've never seen this window before when burning other games, xbox, psx ps2. etc.
So is my chip installed correctly? since I have a steady green light. Is there a certain way to burn these wii iso's??
I extremely appreciate any help, I've been going crazy the past week, waiting for the chip, cutting the chip, then having to wait for the triwing screwdriver, just to get this yet, another roadblock.
Thank You for your time. :)

try using imgburn burn at a slower speed 4x, if not try some different media,
and you have unscrambled the image haven't you

I had problems booting back ups too, at first. I was useing maxell dvd+R's and thay wouldnt boot for **** and burnning at 4x. So I went and picked up some vebatim dvd-R's and burnned at 4x (the slower the better, more disc read errors can occur at higher speeds) and thay worked great.

Break point? Sounds to me like you are burning DL (Duel Layer) discs. These are not supported. You need single layer discs - preferably high grade -R. Burn at 4X with IMGBurn.

If your using DVD+R's make sure your book type for your burner is set to DVD-ROM otherwise will never work on Wii.
But from reading your post, even bad media will work incrementally. So try a burn at 2x will not cost you anything but a few cents for the DVD.
If still fails to boot, verify your image is good and not in RAW format and try burning on a different DVD manufacturer.
If still fails, try a different DVD burner.

Well I have 2 burners, both are pioneer's. 1's a dvd burner, the 2nd is a dvd dl burner.
I burned Twilight Princess on a DVD+R disc, using the Dual Layer burner. My media is "imation DVD+R/16x" I always use the 50 spindle at my local walmart.
I'll try burning the iso in my regular DVD+R burner, and I'll also try to obtain IMGtool, to do the burning.
Thanks for the replys, I'll keep you posted.
EDIT
Problem. I tried putting in a working gamecube backup of Twilight Princess, and it's not working :(
I don't know what the problem is. The chip light is solid green.
Any ideas? :(
I'm still going to burn Twilight using IMGBurn. Someone mentioned booktype for my DVD-ROM? I don't know how to check my DVD Burner settings, and how to set this to DVD-ROM, if it isn't set to it already.

Thats a good clue to what might be wrong, the Pioneer Writers only Auto set DVD+RDL media to DVD-ROM book type by default, you can however "Cross Flash" the firmware on some drives to use the Buffalo firmware that forces DVD-ROM book type on DVD+R also.
If none of that makes any sense, buy some DVD-R ;)

Seriously, just go buy some dvd-r. Your backups aren't working because the Wii doesn't read dvd+r unless they are set to book type.
By far the easiest (and least likely to destroy your cd-rom) is to man up and just go buy some verbatim dvd-rs

Ok, I'll purchase some DVD-R's today, and give you my results.
Thank You for your input :)

SUCCESS!!!!!
It was the media. I burned Twilight Princess onto a Maxell DVD-R, burned with Nero at 4x. Booted, plays perfectly!! I knew I didn't install the chip wrong!
This reminds me of when the XBOX was first modded, I tried burning **** onto CD-R and everyone was like, hello?????
I'd like to thank everyone who helped me out in this thread. It's extremely appreciated!!
Thank You! :)

glad you got it to work.
i just got my cyclowiz today in the mail and i think i also got one of the defective ones.
you said you cut yours.
what did you use to make the incision?
i got some needle nosed pliers with a diamond tip.
will that do it?
thanks!

ok - so the size of the incision just needs to ensure there is no connection between the 2 points?
wasn't sure how delicate i needed to be.

yeah i saw that and printed that out as soon as i noticed my chip was one of those.
however it doesn't show much other than the spots to cut.
and they mentioned a "cutter" and fine point scissors.
that's why i thought my diamond tip wire cutters should be ok to cut that small "V" to separate the connection.
