With all these yummy chips pouring onto the market, who wants to beg their nerdy friend for installs?

Can someone please recommend a very easy to use [read: idiot proof] soldering iron that wont break the bank?

Used/Fleabay OK!

Thanks.

I got a 15w soldering iron at radio shack for $7.99 and it worked great.

Well here's the soldering iron I use if you live in the states.

15 Watt Radio Shack Soldering Iron (http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2062728&cp=2032058.2032236.2032313&fbx=0&allCount=47&fbn=Type%2FSoldering%26%23047%3BDesoldering&f=PAD%2FProduct+Type%2FSoldering%26%23047%3BDesold ering&fbc=1&fr=StorePrice%2FRSK%2F00000600%2F00000999&parentPage=family)

But let me the first to warn you... there is no such thing as idiot proof soldering iron. Be careful and be percise. It appears that people to put the iron too long on any of the pads or too close to a Fuse that powers the DVDROM may be going out too easily.

Just a word of caution.

Haha, looks like the same iron you two posted. I think we may have an $8 winner!

Any last second entries before I commit my $10!

I bought the same RadioShack one. Worked perfectly. I would also recommend getting some kind of magnifying device, the solder points are SO small.
