I would take this to mean that it will be possible to run some US games on my pal wii? Anyone got any more details or concrete info on this befor i order it to replace my trusty wiinja?

That is absolutely correct. From what I've read, 70% of US NTSC games WILL PLAY PERFECTLY on PAL wiikey modded machines!

Can you tell me where you read this please - i have seen it mentioned a couple of times, and obviously it is mentioned on the wiikey site too, but i would like to have a bit more info - games that work/why only 70% etc?

you wont get it if you preorder anyways, you will have to w8 for second batch, so all there is for you is w8 for reviews, and a list of compatibles games

I have done many NTSC<>PAL patchings on PSX and PS2 and can tell you that some games are easily fixed and some are not because of movies, etc. 70% success rate is very good for this sort of thing from a hardware standpoint. I suspect if there are many releases that need fixing patches will be released to allow them to run on Wiikey anyway. ;)

its changing ntsc to pal it wont go vice versa. Ntsc to pal isnt hard especially because pal supports 50hz and 60 where as ntsc is only 60
