officail ps2 hdd question 2

hey i recently picked up an official ps2 hdd, and it wont read in my pc, to dump games to, ive tried all manner of maxtor hdd *dim*(not sure if i said that right) settings and it wont read, ive formatted it twice with my ps2, hdloader detects it no problems, only thing is i can only install games via pc so this is an major inconvenience for me.

not sure what your problem is exactly , but i've seen people who have said they used their official sony hdd in their pc to transfer games to be used with HDLoader. make sure that you have the jumpers set correctly on the drive. does your computer bios see the drive when u boot?

that's kind of contradictory, so i'm not sure exactly what you're saying. but if you're hd isn't showing up when you hook it to a computer, there's a reason for that. it doesn't work. you need to use special software called HDL_DUMP/HDL_DUMB or WIN HIIP. You can download either from www.ps2hd.com/forums/downloads.php

it wont detect in my comp when i go to hdd management, i read on other forums it atleast should detect it there, i recently low lvl formatted it. still no go, myabe its jumper settings, ive tried almost ever maxtor setting i can, with the soft plastic protector facing up i have the jumper horizontally top right, which works for all my other maxtors, but this one no go. thing is i can use any thiurd party hdd, no problems only the officail one is giving me problems. if i cant figure it out guess its going on ebay lol

are you using winhiip or hdl_dump/dumb? it should show up in the taskbar with a remome hardware icon, you should leave the jumper set to master and put it on it's own ide cable. unhooke a cd drive or something if necessary.

When I use winhiip I have my tower open wait til windows loads up, then plug your Hdd(ps2) into the slave jumper. Then open winhiip and go to drive select and it will show up. the format in ps2 hds wont read on your pc unless you have one of these programs to read them.
