after i put in my cyclowiz chip i noticed that the news channel will not connect and that
the vote channel list every event as 90+days remaining.
i wonder is some how they got corrupt when i had the system powered down and the system clock reset. i reset the time and i tried to redownload the vote channel and had no luck.
i wonder if i have to reformat the system memory?...:(
so far everything else works good originals and backups wii+gc

Try fully powering down and up again.

Ahha. Thats exactly what I have just noticed. I fitted my Wiinja yesterday and when I looked at my vote channel, all of the votes close in 50-100 days.
I hope there is a solution to this.. I am not worried, but would obviously like a solution

Guys, after you pop out the battery it resets the date and time. Go back into your settings and set it to the correct date and all will be fixed.

i already reset the the time/date that was the 1st thing i did but still no luck.
i may have needed to reset it before running the channels.
it may be to late since i looked at them b4 reseting the date.

Possibly. Make sure the battery is in properly, right side up, and screwed in solid. If you reset the wii fully and it forgets the date and time, the battery is not in right.

As per the other replies.. After I did my install, my Time/Date was back to Dec 2006.. Once I reset this, the Wii now holds its time correctly, but my "Voting Channel" still shows each vote ending in 60-90 days time!

This has nothing to do with the chip. I took my Wii apart the other day to check which drive controller I have and the same thing is happening to me. Can you delete the channel from the internal memory and then redownload it?

Have any new polls shown up since replacing the battery? If so, do they also end in 90+ days? I'm figuring that any new polls will end on the correct dates.
Worst comes to worst, contact Nintendo. All you did was remove the battery, right? :p

I erased my save, started fresh and everything was normal again. I lost results for 2 polls, but that really doesn't matter since this channel isn't important.
I should have tried to move my save to SD, delete it from the system and copy it back... Try that first if you want to keep your results. If not, just delete your save and start over.

This worked.. Many thanks.. I tried copying the save to an SD card it said that it was not allowed!
So, if this ever happens again when you have a large amount of data in your save, I guess you are stuffed :(
