I was thinking about launching a site almost identical to xbox-scene. but for gamecube. All the info about every chip and user submitted user mods. I was just posting to see if people would actually visit?
I would, but I don't know if the "gamecube scene" is near as big as the xbox scene. Although right now, there is no gamecube site that I know of that would have the same aim as a gamecube equivilent to xbox-scene.com.
So having one would certainly be nice.

The only problem I would have is keeping it up to date. I'm in highschool and I would need a couple people to help keep up with the news. If It's ok with maxconsole, I'd like to link a lot of things to them, like to download, you click a link that directs you to maxconsole. Also, I'd hope to be allowed to share news too. I was wondering how many people would want to visit because I'm not sure how much bandwidth i would need. Do you think 25 gb/mo would be enough?

I think creating new sites will only saturate the already saturated scene. Why not pick a current site and contribute to it?

because there are too many that are too different. there are none JUST LIKE xbox-scene.com dedicated to gamecube, so that's what I hope to achieve. Also, since when are u a mod?

The best bet would be to just contribute to maxconsole.com, if you writings are worth any merit, they will be posted in the respective sections with credit to you.
Yes i know what you are trying to do, and I thought about it with cube-scene.org (which i own) but I soon realized MaxConsole was a bigger, better site and contributing here would actually be better, and cheaper.

The GameCube production is coming to an end and Nintendo will be releasing a new machine. To give your site legs I would call it something like Nintendo-Scene cause once the new Nintendo machine that comes out gets cracked I doubt people will be looking for a site about the GameCube.

I have been working too to make my own GC site, with all kind of information, all apps, etc.
only what i need is good place to put that site:) freewebtown would be good, no ads, etc. but it would be www.freewebtown.com/mysite.
Say, what is best place to put this site? free, not long name, atleast 100MB space?

It only cost $8.95 to register Nintendo-Scene.com. Hosting starts out from $3.95 a month to $35.00 a month. I wouldn't go with a free web hosting as no one is gonna remember www.longassfreewebserver/Nintendo-scene.com

Yeah, I was planning on hosting via godaddy.com with either gcn-scene or nintendo-scene. I would want to completely design my site before I even planned on hosting it. Which is what im doing now. Ill host it on a free site like geocities temporarily and post links for it here and see how many hits it gets. That'll determine whether I host it professionally.

If it gets popular you may see someone else snag up the domain name. Since it is only $8 bucks I would snag the name now. If you need any help let me know, I would be glad to help out.

I got a good idea now. Ill register the name right when I post my site. I could even have it point to the temporary hosting at geocities, and depending on the number of hits will decide if I host it elsewhere on the same name. If I do lose track of keeping up to date with news and forums (if i choose to have any or just direct to maxconsole) Ill contact you. You'll be top of the list.
