If it's a cloned V1 and they say you'll risk you Wii get damaged, doesn't that mean the real v1 has the same risk?

PS. That'll teach Wilcd to spread a fake hex saying we'd never get the real code. (CAPULLOSOS LO HABEIS CREIDO SALUDOS DE WILCD - SOYS UNOS CAPULLOS Y NO VIS A CONSEGUIR EL CODIGO JAMAS)

The Wii modchip scene is best left to mature before u dip into the market.
As its too volatile atm and no clear winner has appeared its gonna be a mish mash of clones and sh1t pcb boards, cyclo wiinja and wiikey will be soon replaced by proper modchips with full homebrew functionality.

Bring on team executer.

You mean WAIT for Crystal Chips and/or Matrix Infinity to release a chip. Team Xecuter has CRAPPY support and makes a cheap product. You're buying on the name, not the product which is why they make so many damn add-ons. I've had to fix a couple connectivity kits due to the power switch not being soldered correctly (v1 & v2s both have issues). Matrix Infinity was #1 for a while in the PS2 scene, but Crystal Chips has surpassed them by leaps and bounds. So, have fun with what you have now or wait for the good stuff to show up.

clones are good. they force prices to go down whether other dealers like it or not. to me clones are as good as competition.

why wait? how easy is it to just wire in the chip, then update it by installing a better chip if, and when it arrives. Around £25, for a chip is nothing, and i don't get it when people will do anything to save a few pounds!

When mass programming chips, you can have serial number embedded on chip. So you would need to read chip to see serial #.

I think wiinja is warning about the copy as they said company is passing the copied ( v1 ) out as copied ( v2 ) which means it would not work on d2b chipset of enhanced reading they claim in v2.

If the company dumped v1, v2 will sure to follow.

It's not about saving pounds but waiting for something that is actually worthy of the outlay.

And no one wants to upgrade twice, thrice or more.
Wii is still in its infancy and not 1 game has tapped its performance yet.

Most folk aint desparate to upgrade as most Wii titles atm are p1ss poor and are pure lazy or bad gcube ports.

it's not a problem for me and you but i know people that i talk to online that is in the modding scene that cant afford crap. once they get a chip that's pretty much it.

Can u explain me how they are going to read out a chip that has code protection? Or where else would the serial number reside other than in the code?

This is very good news. I didn't expect it to happen quite this quickly. But, I'm glad it did. Anyone know where a chum can pick up a nice v2 clone for cents on the dollar? :D
