We have heard everyone say that these drive codes arent supported by the Q because it has a different laser unit, but have we heard any of these groups say ANYTHING about if these units will ever be supported. I have 3 Q's here that I have wanted to mod for a while but havent been able to. I know there was a thread a couple days ago and the guy sent in an info request Qoob, any word from that?

No, but i can tell you that the QOOB as of now does not support the Q, and no chip is going to until they right the code for the dvd drive, IF it's even possible.

No reply from qoobchip.com. I tried 3 different emails, it seems that the panasonic q is not supported, but a simple "no its not supported" would've been ok. well not really.

I dont think that the modchip teams are interested in making a chi p that works with the Q which is a shame really as its the best gamecube ever, plays full sized dvds, has progressive scan output, plays dvds, mp3s, could probably play divx aswell, and of course gc games, it would be a killer system.

Personally I have given up with waiting for a modchip to support the panasonic Q, I had my hopes withthe Vipergc and the cobra 1.0 bios, and then with the Qoob chip, but now I think I will wait for the HD adapter to come out and put a 2.5" HD in the Q somehow, and use gcos and AR, which I have no doubt will supprt the HD (if it comes out). In the meanwhile, I will use my newly acquired DOL001 JaPanese model and mod that with the QOOB chip most likely.

edit: however I still don't know if Qoob team or viper team for that matter will add support for the Q as I cannot get an official answer from either of them!

the q will probably NEVER get a chip that requires swapping because of the eject tray. Although if they find a no swap method, nintendo revolution will probably be out so u might as well buy a regular cube.

Well the code for direct boot is already been done. Really its a matter of the drive and actually coding for it. I just wish we could hear something about saying like, oh its not possible or were working on it. Just seems like is looked over.

That is excellent news. Maybe I will hold onto my Q for a little while longer...

Nice I will defintly order up a Qoob when this feature gets added. I am just weary about opening it up. I opened a Q up once and couldnt put it back together and it booted with errors, that one is now sitting in my closet.
