Gears of War Exclusive to Xbox 360 now, but coming to PC

In a recent interview, Epic's Mark Rein confirmed that for the time being Gears of War will remain an exclusive Xbox 360 title BUT they will make a PC version but do not have a specific time schedule for doing so.


Have you formally acknowledged other versions of Gears coming?

Mark Rein: Nope. It’s an Xbox 360 exclusive.

And stays that way?

Mark Rein: ’Til there’s something else. (chuckles) People ask me, “Are you going to do it on PC?” Yeah, eventually…I don’t think that’s any great secret that we would like to do it on PC, but for now it’s a 360 game. Eventually we’ll get around to a PC version. I just don’t know when.

That’s worked successfully for Halo. Halo was a big seller on PC long after it kind of peaked on the original Xbox, and they’re doing the same thing now with Halo 2. We work at the pleasure of a publisher who thinks both of those are their platforms, so I think it’s ultimately inevitable, and obviously we’re a PC company.

halo, blue dragon, lost oddessy, mass effect, lost planet, dead rising, crackdown, too human, and much more i cant think of off the top of my head, plus mark rien said like a month ago that it was a 360 exclusive, so until i actually SEE IT on pc then i will believe it, until then its a 360 only.

Halo is on the PC, sorry to tell you. And Halo was originally only for PC until Microsoft's greedy little hands bought it out. Lost Planet honestly was not very good, Dead Rising was boring, Crackdown only sold because of Halo Beta, and blue dragon is a cheap attempt to make a squaresoft game by a publisher who well is not squaresoft. Haven't played lost oddessy, mass effect, or too human and haven't really even heard of them which shows that the game clearly isn't a media topic.

Also, you can have Halo on the PC, it only takes 2-3 years for you to play the game. By that time, everyone has beat it, played it online for hundreds of hours, and thrown it aside.

BTW, I'm not really a fan of Halo, it's good, but not much more then that.

Show me a good gaming PC that costs under $399 dumbass.
$399 will probaly get you a good video card and thats about it.

Not to mention a good gaming PC can easily double as good AV editing workhorse.
Something neither a 360 or PS3 can do.

You think Sony is some god, name one outstanding game on the PSP besides MGA or the PS3 that the 360 doesn't have.

Another way to to look at this is to say that the XBOX360™ is a One-Off Expense. (€399.99(EUR)), while for that you might still be able to get an ATI x1900 or a nVidia 7800GTS.
Most likely both will only be available as PCI-e ONLY! (Doen't help me as I'm still stuck @ x8 AGP),.
So there's the additional cost of a new Motherboard, and CPU plus Soundcard plus Fister (um Vista w/gemanic 'f'), and the Fackin Video Card has a hlaf-life of about SIX FRICKING MONTHS!

The XBOX360™ is at least givnig those of us w/o a Bottomless Supply of Cash a chance to play PC-like (till the next rev. of DX10), on a more affordable Console the the PC.
Besides the fact that I'M SICK TO DEATH OF THESE SO-CALLED MUST HAVE FPS for the PC, that force you into gettin the latest and greatest +$500.00(USD), Video Card!!!

Let's recap $599.99(USD) for a PS3 or $599.99(USD), for a ATI R600 Part w/no Sound, Controller, CPU, Memory nor an Operating System.

Yes the PS3 has no Games and is just about as useful. :p ~let's hope that'll change!~
But I'd have to do what I've done a simply Boycott PC Games altogether, and just do my Gameing on the Console of chose which is the XBOX360™, and the Console is not limited to only those in the FPS Genre unlike the PC either...

i dont understand how everyone is acting so surprised. gow was originally announced for both 360 and pc then the 360 vers was getting all the attention to make a launch now the 360 vers is out so they can spend the needed time on the pc vers so its offically announced again. its nothing new and honestly who cares if its on pc and 360. some people have powerful enough pc's but still prefer games on consoles to pcs for instance me

The Game on XBOX360 was one of most Boring 3rd Person Shooters, i have ever played, and Online , Oh Don't get me started, Full of Cheating Bastards :mad:
Don't get me Wrong Beautiful Graphics & Sound, but that doesn't make a Game without the Gameplay which is Flawed in many ways!!!!

Icons Pop up to Roll Left or Right, when you wish to Jump over a Wall & Go Forwards, So after me rolling around for about 5 Secs, i get a Mine put on me, and Blown up yet again, i finally Manage to Run Forward & only have 4 Weapons to Choose!!!!!WHY?, and they are so low Powered, that an Opponent has plenty of time to plant yet another Mine on your Back, BOOOOOOMMMMMMM, Guess what i was Killed yet again & again & again.......

This game even makes HALO & HALO 2 Look good, and i can't stand them either.........
So in the End, a PC version would be a Bad Move, as nobodys Graphics Card would be able to Cope with it, So i Bet it will be Jerky as hell, if you can get the Bloody Game to work in the first Place without having to Patch it.:mad:
