We're back! As some of you may have read earlier in the nfo file of the Cobra BIOS release for the Viper GC, the XCM Gamecube crystal series are officially Viper branded! This newfound partnership has ultimately caused some slight delays in the project and we apologize that we will not be able to release pictures this week as planned. Now for the good news, not only do our premium quality cases come branded with what is undoubtedly a premium quality brand but also due to high levels of consumer demand we have added liquid crystal colour (transparent) to our fine range. Add this design to our already vibrant range of colours available include purple (default) , black and orange and you have yourself a replacement case accustomed to everyone’s taste!

We would like to reiterate that our fine range of cases feature funky LED's for some awesome visual effects , couple the LED's with the new liquid crystal case and you will simply be amazed.

Rest assured that we will release final pictures of our brand new cases early next week, while shipping to retailers will commence at the end of next week at the latest.

was really hoping to get the xtender one but oh well lol mainly because it IS branded with the vipergc .. but anyway yeah i hope they have a platinum one and just forgot to mention :(

Lame. These cases are worthless to alot of people. Not everyone has a viper for booting full sized dvd's. There are many other methods/chips other then viper, and the people useing those (like me) dont want a viper branding.

Ill keep waiting for another case. Like elinksoft or gamecubecases or whatever.

I have asked a few resellers and they tell me that platinum silver is also available!

As for pricing I would assume somewhere between $24.99-29.99.

i hope the viper branding is descreet or optional.
the first guys messed up by forgetting the LED
and by using the wrong colour buttons.
and now this lot are branding the cases with viper logos?

Up until now everyone who physically modded their cube will have a VIPER GC.
For sure there are other mods cropping up now , but not even the Qoob offers MORE features than the Viper GC - Anyway I expect for a lot of Viper GC owners out there they are looking to have a matching branded case to go with their mod , it makes it the 'complete package' so to speak.

I'm sure you'll agree that if you have a viper gc mod , which a lot of people do you would rather have a viper branded case then some plain sticker on a replacement case!

Id rather use the jewel that came with the original case top. Even if i did have a viper.

Now if they just include a vipergc branded jewel with this case, leaveing a option between it or the original jewel, thats cool. But selling cases with a vipergc brand on it, when theirs about 3 other mod chips, and 4 non modchip boot methods out. Thats just dumb. Thier cutting out a good chunk of their market. Yeah, alot of people use vipers, but alot of people also use the 7 other methods too.

Could be worse though i guess. Could be ps2nfo branded. =p

How does being the first mod/the first 'no-swap' mod, and creating a solid chip in the process (my chip works 100% well, and has done since it was installed months ago WITH a laser tweak) ..make them the (and I quote AGAIN!...)

On to the thread itself. I don't care so much if the case is branded but as others here keep saying = it would make more sense to have a branded Jewel that can be replaced at our leisure. It's nothing personal - I just hate brands, period. :p We should also take note that no-one here is sure of how the branding is so far incorporated. Perhaps it is a jewel. - maybe not? Anyone care to find out?

simple, team viper/dmx's "calling card" is that they like to steal other people's work and try to pass it off as their own. thats what they did with hdloader, thats what they did with viper, and i heard that they supposedly did it again with no-swap, but i haven't looked into it yet, so i can't say for sure. furthermore, the last time team xtender "teamed up" with another chip maker, they did so with team xodus, who are by leaps and bounds the most unprofessional, arrogant, and immature modding team on the entire xbox scene, as well as most of console modding in general, plus they too have a history of ripping off other people's work. i apologize if my not reiterating this information in the beginning makes me sound "uneducated" but i don't make a habit of explaining things that are already common knowledge.

Your wrong about the Viper. While they did use tmbinc's design, they did not steal it. Tmbinc released the the design to the public, and said people could do whatever they wanted to with it. That is not stealing the design, and anyone that says so is just ignorant. And you know just as well as I know that they did not steal no swap. Beta testers have had it for months. Cobra has some great programmers, they are the ones who figured out how to boot backups, they sure as hell can figure out how to do no-swap.

If the Cobra 0.4 bios had not been decrypted, the Qoob chip, along with the other chips would not even be around, because so-one else knew how to boot backups. For example Ripper uses a stripped down version of Cobra 0.4, Ninjamod uses a beta of GCOS 1.5(which uses cobra's backup booting code), and last the Qoob. The Qoob team said so themselves, that they started working on the Qoob chip after Cobra 0.4 was decrypted, and that they based their bios of of Cobra 0.4.

The official VIPER cases for GC, made by Team Xtender, the XCM GC, will be released soon. We are now taking preorders.
First color available (the one we are taking preorders for) is the
Crystal Blue with LEDS version. They allow full size DVD's to be inserted into the Gamecube, are officially supported by Team Viper, and are still high quality cases from Team Xtender.
RELEASE DATE: 22nd of April for Crystal Blue, other colours will
follow.

I think it is going to be a cloudier crystal blue, then that, which I think will look better then completely clear.
