Interesting that it seems the article is mainly concerned with the danger to the public seeing an ADULT rated game unknowingly.
"This case illustrates the way in which piracy poses a threat to members of the public - allowing titles containing unregulated adult-rated content to be sold illegally without the enforcement of our rigorous ratings system, which is strictly adhered to by legitimate retail outlets," said ELSPA director general Roger Bennett.

Seems more focus on this than the actual act of selling pirated goods! (at least in this article)
Moral of the story - if you are selling pirated games make sure you have them clearly marked;)

So do I, with Freeloader or action replay. If you are running GCOS, you ARE playing DVD-Rs. There is no way to run GCOS that couldn't already be used for imports, except maybe for the exception of PSO, but you can upload freeloader that way.

I think it not about playing burned games, its about selling them.
Sure I use GCOS or PSO to play japanese games ( which I dont own... yet ) I dont have much gc games either, not more then 7. Right now Iam playing Metroid Prime 2 Echoes ( couldt start earlier ) and its great! I couldnt " warez " such a great game.

Besides that, do you guys really play all downlaoded / ripped less quality ( I know there arent much ) games?
Isnt it all about to have fun with the games, not the burnin / ripppin around ? :D

I just dont like the idea of selling games in "masses" and makin money out if it.

Dont wanna blame anyone.

I buy most my games. Own 50+ atm. Piracy isn't a option for me. I like to support the market. Though it is not so fgood all the times. =)

But homebrew **** is fun. Of course I have some "backups" but not so many. I have more consoles modded than backups.

If there is one way to easily get caught it's selling illegal software :P
Warez is where it should be, and that's free and up for the grabs on the internet.

You'll find someone selling pirate discs at most car boot sales, they'll put a few out on the stall and hang around on the customer side of the stall and if their stall gets busted, they'll just walk away and leave the stuff, blank media is cheap enough for them to do that.

" It also claims there are proven links between piracy and drug dealing, pornography and terrorism."

Uh.......OK.

Lets put the MOST negative spin on this story as we can.

Im sure these guys were your typical international terrorist types. Uh huh..

Give me a break.

Its a sad world when the big entertainment companys become so powerful, they can basically say what they want, claim what they want and do what they want. Its no secret they have padded the pockets of a few lobbiests here in the states to push through or TRY to push through these insane laws like banning p2p, and trying to outlaw ang device that can record.

In particular I love the MPAA statement from last year. On the one hand they are pissing and moaning about how piracy is killing them and then turn around and TWO weeks later go public saying they have had the MOST profitable year in history (2004).

Which is it? Your going broke due to piracy or your raking in the money?

I have a feeling the story changes depending on who they are talking to.

Well I have ranted enough.
